So I went to spend the week-end with my dad. And my brother walks over to me and says......'Guess where I'm going tonight?' ...... I said....'So, who cares?!'......He then says to me......'You should!!! I'm going to see Journey right now!!' ..... I said ....' Are you taking me too??' ..... He said....'NOPE!!!' And walked away!!! I was so mad at him. When he came home, I asked how the concert was (while I was still mad at him and still crying). He said....'the concert was great! MTV was there, good night!!' To this day I have never forgiven him!!...lol... I guess I got him back, when my best friend and I saw Journey for the Frontiers concert. When they played to 3 sold out nights in Houston, Tx. We went to the last 2 shows. And then I saw Journey for the last time for the ROR tour and then for Steve's first solo tour!! Take that big brother!!...lol....

Love your reaction! Definitely love Neal's playing, but I've always been a Steve fan. If you want to see the ultimate live version of this song, check out Steve's (solo) FTLOSM of this in Toronto (at Massey Hall, no less), where he does this crazy thing with a rogue red tuxedo jacket (with waist length hair...). Pretty easy to find; I originally stumbled on it when I searched "Steve Perry tuxedo".

You have a great channel here hon. Not too many reactors play the greatest music ever and that is music from the 60, 70, 80's. Simply can't get into the new music today, with a few exceptions...very few. And for me the best backside I ever saw was on Mark Farner of Grand Funk Railroad. Phoowar!

My husband plays and teaches guitar, drums, piano, bass, violin, viola, mandolin, banjo, and other strings. I sing. He is a great accompanist. He is my best friend, but I love my guitar man. He sings too. Journey will always hold a special place in my heart. They are just so very good.

I saw Journey twice. The first time, June 4, 1983--two months, six days before the twentieth anniversary of my womb eviction--at JFK Stadium in Philadelphia, was the second concert I ever went to. The centerpiece of the documentary *Frontiers and Beyond* (available on YT), the concert was an afternoon festival billed as "Summer Jam '83" and included Bryan Adams, The Tubes, Sammy Hagar and John Cougar (who hadn't begun to use his real last name). Journey's set was memorable for its being recorded for future broadcast by the Westwood One Radio Network. Phenomenal. The second time, in the 2000s with Steve Augeri, was less memorable. Foreigner opened the indoor arena show, but I thought I was seeing a cover band; a good one, but still....

Hi Li , Journey has been a long time favorite of mine. Seen them in Aztec stadium at San Diego State University, while I was stationed there during my Navy years. Went to see Kansas and Head East. Head East was to be the opener, but had to cancel. Some group called Journey took their place. Steve Perry was introduced as keyboard player and backup vocals! He did get to lead, singing Wheel In The Sky! The crowd went crazy. The rest was history.

Just think, SP almost gave up all hope and quit the dream in 1976, but a little demo saved his arse.

I remember this particular concert airing on MTV back in the early '80's. I will agree that Neal Schon was and is a fine guitarist, though I will pass on judging the quality of his hindquarters.
