We are doing Kate Snow Preschool Math at Home. It has been so much fun. I think I am going to continue with the series . My 4 year old has learned so much in math so far. 😊

This looks great. Just have to remember to do my conversions to metric when teaching my son. I love how hands-on this is, and the fact it's conceptual and teaches kids how to think through the problems.

I'm using the kindergarten level with my daughter and Preschool Math at Home with my son. Their older siblings have used the first edition of RightStart in Kindergarten, so I'm excited to try something new!

Hello. I think mine are finally grabbing number sense, but it’s taken curriculum after curriculum to get there. They are very delayed (12&13). I started homeschooling another girl who is 14 and has no number sense at all. Just curious is you think I should just start with kindergarten and progress a little faster? OR go with RSM (at least the number sense section in the game book)?

Great question, and I'm really not an expert in this 😬 With their age, though, the Kindergarten math may not fit so well. I would recommend maybe doing the RS game book, and addition facts/subtraction facts/multiplication facts/division facts that stick by Kate Snow, or check out Kate Snow Homeschool Math Help website for her recommendations :)

I'm considering this for my younger two kids. My older two have done Masterbooks math and we have loved it. I love this too b/c it is so hands on and my boys are such hands on learners. I think they would really love this math curriculum. I do also really love Masterbooks math. I don't want to bombard them with both. My boys do have special needs.

Oh, yes, this is very tactile and hands on 😄 I used Masterbooks for 3 years with my oldest, I do wish MWC was available when she was at these math levels 😬

Also, I am afraid this requires too much “prep work”. I am very open and go. Have to be with the dynamics of my family. Is there a lot to prep?

Yes!! This is so much better than Masterbooks.

As far as prep, you just prep a few materials at the beginning of the year (grab counters, coins, number cards, laminate a few pages), then set those materials in a place where you can grab easily. it takes me a minute or 2 to grab what I need out of our Math basket before the lesson. It’s especially worth it if your child is a hands on learner and needs to feel or see the concepts.

How is this program going several months in? We are on Math U See, Saxon, and Rod and Staff as our top three to decide between, but I’m now coming back to MWC.

This is my third year with Math With Confidence. My youngest has used kinder, 1st, and is now on 2nd, and I love it so much! I feel it is the best elementary math program out there!
