You need to show more of what's going on and talk us through what it is you're doing. Like the wiring. What's your testing technique for matching them up? I'm no mechanic, dyslexic, in fact it scares the hell out of me. Explaining problems I might have on a different year, older and newer models for instance. I say this because I'm looking hard for a channel that doesn't expect anybody of knowing anything about mechanics whatsoever. I'd rather not have to go to another channel to learn how to rejet the carbs. That music could be filled up with knowledge. Just saying.

Aloha Brian, very nice job, well done video, very informative, clean, neat and quick. I would like to see a list of parts on sheet that we could screen print, perhaps J & P could help with that. I bought my first sportster in around 1963, a 60XLCH, had several others including a Factory Cafe in around 1977, now I have 2002 Sportster Sport, thinking of Cafe'ing it. Thanks for the effort you put in to this.

Got my sp0rtster back in a box from a HD dealer after they striped it for a warrentee reapers only the new flywheel they in stalled to shear of the drive shaft off, then they went out of business. I have to rebuild the enter motor, so am thinking of there turning her into a Cafe racer or a bobber thanks for the video it helps

I like the concept. Might build me one. Throttle cables bothered me. Wonder if I can dual exhaust it? You know, pipe on both sides of the wheel? Maybe that west coast fairing?

Hi Brian, I had a question on the wiring. I am noticing in many motorcycle videos the common direction seems to be to cut and solder wires together. Wouldn’t soldering be an improper option? Since the wire is specified as Stranded, so it can flex and withstand vibration without breaking, and soldering would in essence make that section a solid wire, making it susceptible to breaking via flexing or vibrations? I ask because stranded wire is specified for boat electrical systems and soldering is not recommended for this reason, butt connectors are the suggested method when splicing is required. And I imagine boats and motorcycles have the same vibration/flex requirements.

Have you considered a 1200 to 1250 upgrade to the engine and what about the front fork swap to a larger MM?

the 1250 conversion really isn't much of a gain unless you add some cam's . We were on a budget and opted not to do it.

The foot controls could do with being relocated and mounted where the pillion pegs should go. Cafe Racer's don't have mid mounted controls.

So, every part of this bike that is supposed to be Cafe... isn't... except maybe the "cafe" seat... This is what would have been called a 'dragger' from what I used to know about harleys. Cushy suspension, low seat, drag bars, mid controls... yea, dragger. Every time you say cafe style, you do the oppisite lol. Cafe bikes were the street sport bikes of their time. Brits took their low power bikes, lowered the front end (not use drag bars), put clip ons or clubmans on there and some rearsets to sort the riding position and add some lean angle for turning. Turning is how they got there fast.. the bikes were sort of slow. The 'flat line' you talked about when referring to cafe aesthetic has to do with the 'line' that runs under the tank and seat.. That's more of an appearance thing that came from the frames of those older bikes and the tanks/seats that would get swapped on them. That line would be very hard to actually get on a sportster whithout a custom tank and seat or changing the way the seat mounts. The build would have been 100% more cafe if the only things you bought were the seat, rearsets and clubmans. Sid the forks up in the trees a little. Then maybe come up with some way to make the rear end set up higher and start removing weight wherever you could. Wonder if this is why I see so many draggers called cafes on marketplace and craigslist now...

Budget? I have the same bike & all I did was change my handlebars cause that’s all that was needed. Now you went from getting 45 miles to the gallon to 35 all for a mere 4 or 5 more hp? This is a very nice bike but to me a waste of money. Nice job, bike looks much better

I was born in the 80's, if the tread pattern is from that decade or earlier it will not go on any of my bikes. I value my life too much. I don't care if there modern compounds,, there still junk compared to more modern designs.
