Wow, reading the comments I was 6, going on 7 when this song came out. For some reason it popped in my head. I didn’t even know the words, but I had to find it! So I Googled what I knew. “I tried, I tried, I tried”, and found it! Great song!

I pass Motown at least 3 times a week, there is ALWAYS a crowd there to see and tour it, even to take pictures in front of it, when it's closed! And don't forget, there is a funeral home right next door too, where people are dying to get in! But it's too bad the current generation of Detroit HAS FORGOTTEN Motown, and what it means to the world! Before RECORD stores closed, you couldn't even find a Motown CD or tape, but thanks to places like this, IT LIVES ON FOREVER!

Its been a long journey yet it seems so short especially when you relive this era of the journey and remember how so special it was and longing for just a small part of it back, however when we shuffle off were gonna get to enjoy some great jams God provides for us in the Heavens. Im about to hit 61 so I know your feelings. How Truly Magical the Sixties were when it came to the music we had to help get thru the turbulence.

The sax world is kind of odd in that there are guys like Jr Walker who don't get their due. Respect. Motown sax players. People just talk about guys from the 30's to the 50's. Charlie Parker, Dexter Gordon...etc. then in the rock genre Clearance Clemons. and a few one-hit wonders and their sax solo's. First time I heard Jr Walker...thought he was an amazing sax man...then he started singing...I was blown away...sounded like a great Motown singer. He was. :) His playing or solo's are never in any one's Top 10 (KZfaq sax solo top 10s). Don't get t hat. Do people never figure the sax IS used in R&B?

Those of you whom are fans of Jr. Walker and the All Stars join me in encouraging the City of Battle Creek, Michigan to give honors to this band! This band may not be as famous as Kelloggs or Post, but they did give a lot of joy to people throughout the world. They each remained resident of that city and raised their families there and most died there! It is time for the city to honor this group with a street name, a park name, a monument, etc.! Please send messages to the Battle Creek Enquirer, the City of Battle Creek, Michigan and the State of Michigan!

It was only then that Motown decided to release it as a single. Can y’all believe that they didn’t hear the value of this masterpiece? 🤦🏽♀️
