Thank you so much to KZfaq for making it possible to produce this important episode of Middle Ground. We want to say thank you to our participants but also to our audience for always enabling respectful and meaningful conversation in our comments. We know this discussion does not address all aspects or perspectives of this very deep and historical conflict, but we did our best to represent as many perspectives as we could. For those of you that don’t know, Jubilee's philosophy for Middle Ground is to bring people together and have an open dialogue in order to develop a deeper sense of understanding and empathy. We hope you all enjoy :) If you felt as moved as we did by the conversation, please share the video to as many people as you can!

6:23 the blonde girl just made a hole in my heart this is such a smart way to talk to communicate And on a more general meaning, I feel like even though there is so much emotion involved everyone is able to make proof of calm and empathy, express mostly calmly, let each other talk and be able to understand all of the unsaid put in game by the barrier of language. Like it was a bit harsh I think to talk like that to each other and except a few slips, it was great. And also I appreciate the fact that the people involved were from different social classes

Jack Zara G-D gave that land to the Hebrews. If G-D hated Esau for giving up his birthright G-D will hate Israel for giving up its promised land to palestine. Judgement day will be based on how they treated Zion. Iran, Russia, Syria, Libya, and other nations will be destroyed and will name the messiah king of kings and lord of lords and having a long lasting period of peace.

Sonya Orak : Humans are born to die, death is inevitable. His sister was born to be taken early and he was born to be sat in this interview giving his side, everyone’s purpose is different! From a ‘biblical’ perspective where does it say we have no free will? Where does it promote violence? And where does it say when you are enlisting as a solider where you go on to PROTECT LIVES, you end up taking an innocent one who must have been half if not quater his age? We humans are capable of many things, definitely peace included, you see it’s natural because it comes from within the heart! But if we do talk about ‘natural behaviour’, Cain whom killed his brother was left as a prime example to the world and was left as a ‘fugitive’ and ‘wanderer’ and ‘cursed’. As humans have elvolved today, i can happily say we learn from mistakes, Cain became a warning for those who needed it! Plus Less than 1% of deaths are caused by homocide (globally) the rest of the 99% are actually dying naturally! We are all born with some purpose in life..Just have to find yours!

@@Enkubuss Thats Rich White Ashkenazi European Jewish Zionist privilege and that mindset are the problem as the guy in the suit so clearly showed. It showed how he and his ilk, his social class, control most of the power, capital, judicial and political resources and they run Isreal and have decided they are not giving up the land, Palestine, and neither is the IDF, and that it will be over the dead bodies of as many Palestinians as it takes. That's the message he was sending in his inability to acknowledge the history of the land. He is of a cold heart. Something that is not yours can not be given to anyone else. World War 2 was horrible but Britain can not give you the ancestral home of an indeginous people especially when they are currently residing there. Any nation would normally consider the giving away of your land by some other nation without the consensus of the palestinian people about how they felt about giving up part their land as a gift to a group of people so grievously violated by the results of WW2 as were many other groups of people, were an act of war. That would be a hostile action and would be an alien invasion that anyone would and should meet with resistance in the defense of the family and home. If any land was owed to them it lies somewhere in Europe mainly German lands. As Germany can give away their own land to a people they managed to have their homes stolen from them through their part as the Axis in WW2. They could build their own small European nation there and thrive. That's the only other thing that is owed in reparations for the Holocaust is a blood free land for Palestinians to call their own. If Jews don't want land in central Europe then give it to Palestinians to develop for themselves in repayment to their violated rights of safety family and home.

@@jubaii4142 first of all, at least say Qur’an and not just “their book” if you’re going to make a statement like that. and secondly, you’re incorrect. nowhere does it say in the Qur’an that another man’s faith makes them a mistake. The Prophet (pbuh) showed the utmost respect for his fellow Jewish and Christian neighbours and us Muslims lead by his example as much as the Qur’an. I think you’re possibly thinking of the fact that because Muslims consider Islam the ‘true and final word of God’ that all non-believers will enter Hell. That’s a sort of twisted mentality that’s been slight;y contrived by you, but there is some strand of truth to it, in the sense that each (main) religion believes they are the correct religion and the others are wrong, therefore they won’t get into Paradise. It isn’t an exclusive statement that only relates to Islam, it also it mentioned in Christianity and Judaism. pls don’t spread false facts or contrived and twisted statements. it’s not helping anyone and is just worsening the issue at hand. your comment also had nothing to do with the original comment which was about the grief in the man’s eyes over the loss of his young sister. please look at the context next time.

I'm sure the Israeli people could be contacted cause they're most likely 100% safe - alive and breathing ... but the Palestinians... well we can only pray they are still alive and well. They probably have much more pressing concerns right now than this... like protecting their families, themselves, their neighbours or just mourning over the loss of their homes, their livelihood and everything they've known. And quite frankly I think it would be extremely insensitive for them to be forced to play calm right now and hide their hurting after all the trauma their people are going through.

They are still hoping for peace… that’s how much humanity and love they have to their land. This experience humbled me to always seek humanity and peace even in the worst of situations. For Israelis out there you are in the position force and power. Your Religious book promised you a land were indigenous people were living. You have taken many innocent lives to take this land. I'm not losing people I know this very second? I feel terrible that human lives are ending on the 'Palestinian' end. But at the end of the day, a lot of these people are not innocent. And the ones that are, are being used as human shields by Hamas. Black lives matter. Gender equality. Palestinian lives matter. That's what everyone says. But Jewish lives don't? Yeah, the way he was saying like I was never ordered to shoot someone unless there's a threat. So was the israeli soldier ordered to shoot the 10 years old child? Why did he shot her? Was a 10 years old going to school a threat to Israel? His friends from IDF joined the IDF while putting their lives on line, knowing they will probably die in the line of their duty. While a normal civilian family does not wake up every morning knowing they will be shot. But these Palestinian civilians do. They wake up knowing they'll probably be killed that day, not because they joined the military knowing that, but simply because they were born into this world.

There are Muslim Arabs currently living as citizens of Israel today. But in majority Muslim countries there are no Jews. The Jews have been purged. The Israeli government is tolerant of all faiths. Hamas would "cleanse" the whole of the land "from the river to the sea" and there would be no Jews in Israel (or Palestine if you want to rename it). The Arabs who live in Gaza are the children of those who chose not to become Israeli citizens in 1967, and hoped that Israel would be "cleansed". They vacated their homes, hoping to return shortly, but Israel won the war. There were other Arabs willing to live alongside the Jews, and they and their children remain citizens of Israel.

Don't know but humans from all other religions would have a tendency to dominate Muslims in terms of all sorts of powers if they want to create an environment where people of all faiths have some fundamental rights because in 'Muslim' synonym to rigidity and extreme conservative nature that's why hardly any other religion prospers in land where Muslims rule.

International law gives the right of people to resist against occupation. In the West Bank, there are many times alternatives to violence since the whole world, even the American public, is watching. Boycotts in the occupied territories are justified. Cultural boycotts of Israel and Israeli universities is not a good tactic, just like you wouldn’t boycott Harvard for US crimes.

They kept her for few houres before leting her go and shortened time she could be in Israel. Then when she was leaving this country she heard: no more Israel for you. @@BerryTony it’s not a problem if you just think. The fact you never heard about this just shows how limited history is for the pro Palestinians. When the Ottoman Empire ruled the land, the gave out land for the people to live there as long as they paid rent. However this was never enforced for centuries, till after WW2. The ottomans started to plan on selling the land or require the current residents to pay rent. When the Jews came in they bought the land and moved in. And the Palestinians that stayed were the ones that paid their rent. It’s law was callef mash‘a or mush‘a
@bchen_
@bchen_ Ай бұрын
@@BerryTony the land governance that the Palestinian Mandate had was based on the Ottoman M'usha system and so Palestinians themselves very rarely owned the land, despite the definite and generally correct view that they lived on the land. Theoretically, almost all the agricultural land in the Ottoman empire was owned by the Ottoman state, but inheritable rights to use the land was granted to individuals and villages. The most important systems of land tenure for agriculture in Palestine were musha'a (also masha'a) and mafrouz, a land tenure system that roughly corresponds to the European concept of private property. Mafrouz land made up only a small percentage of agricultural land. The larger percentage of land called musha'a was allocated and utilized in common by a village or community and parceled out to individuals and peasant families. At intervals of one to five years the peasants redistributed the land usually by lot. Thus, a village farmer did not have rights to a single plot of land, but rather the plot of land he cultivated changed every few years. The redistribution process tended to equalize the economic possibilities of each peasant. A peasant allocated a poor plot of land might find himself with a better plot of land with the redistribution and vice versa. The Ottoman government attempted, without much success, to eliminate the musha'a with its land law of 1858. The Ottomans aimed to increase its revenue from taxation and to exert more control over land. The British continued this policy and implemented policies to convert land cultivated in common by Palestinian communities into private property. As a consequence, the percentage of land cultivated by Palestinian communities in the musha'a system declined from 70 percent in 1917 to 25 percent in 1940. Most of the land was bought from landowners. Of the land that the Jews bought, 52.6% were bought from non-Palestinian landowners, 24.6% from Palestinian landowners, 13.4% from government, churches, and foreign companies, and 9.4% from fellaheen (farmers). Nobody exactly stole the Palestinian Land and until the 1948 war almost the entirety of land was being purchased in a peaceful manner.
@JosefK-ud8io
@JosefK-ud8io 21 күн бұрын
@@bchen_ The land that was purchased was at most 6% of the current land area. And it's not like people didn't live on this land. Those who lived on it also experienced forced removal. This in addition to the clear declaration of zionists to establish a state, often with zionist flags popping up everywhere, led to violent anti-jewish gangs during the ottomans. And then in the 1930's zionists began establishing their state. In order to create a state you need violence.
