And yes, some Southern accents, often the hillbilly varieties, are as annoying as they are ignorant sounding. But you could say the same for the Bronx, Brooklyn & Boston. And some Southern accents are delicious, whether that be delivered in a seductive Georgia peach drawl, or some ordinary cashier politely dripping sweet honey upon every patron who comes their way. It's not a tale of 2 opposing mindsets, but instead a tale of varying degrees & interpretations, a good many you yourself bring to the table

@@connorhlane If you believe that our rights come from government...then you don't understand what a "right" (in the political sense) is. Read the Declaration of Independence. Better yet...read John Locke's "Two Treatises on Government" which was Jefferson's inspiration.

In that sense, the government does give us our rights-as said, it enforces what we can and can’t do. Most of the world doesn’t have the same rights that we do, which reinforces that our rights do not come from the Heavens rather people. What I was calling ignorant is that you wanted to vote for Roy Moore. That man is the opposite of a libertarian. He wants to break the separation of church and state and deny Americans their right to marry whomever. Like many people in power, there is also substantial evidence that he sexually abused young women. With all of that in mind, your original statement does come off as ignorant.
