This story really hit home for me. I’m not proud of it, but I was once addicted to opioids as well. I fell off my motorcycle and even after I healed I felt as tho I needed the pain killers to operate in society. This epidemic is REAL! I was able to get off opioids without professional help, I just woke up one day and said no more! Been clean 3 yrs now! I owe it to God and all the prayers sent up for me because Lord knows I was a pill away at any moment. If any of you get hurt and the doctor prescribes you opioids, PLEASE don’t abuse them and if you can endure the pain then do so and don’t take them at all. I know from experience what can happen and trust me you don’t want to travel that road. Hopefully someone reads this and it helps. God bless!

Him being on drugs has nothing to do with him being able to be a part of the funeral arrangements. Those were THEIR parents. Even if it was something like helping with food preparation after the funeral or even coming to make sure they have dressed their mom nicely or done her hair & makeup really good.

This case really broke me down, I use to be addicted to opioids I was taking 30 tabs/percs a day, it wasn’t a day went by that I didn’t think I was going to wake up, half the time I was scared to sleep, one day my mom told me that she was gone send me away, and she said “I DONT WANT TO TAKE CARE OF YOUR KIDS”, that was 8 years ago and I been clean since!!!!

I love Judge Mathias but I think he was wrong about his participation in his mother's funeral. He is still a human being regardless of his addiction and he should have been allowed to participate.

Everything is not a damn joke! Sometimes ppl are in a mental place where is extremely traumatic and the judge and the bailiff is cracking jokes. He admitted his drug addiction and admitted to wanting to get help. Then they have the audacity to crack jokes at his cry for help, then wanna get mad because he don't find it funny. This is why ppl reflect from getting help or admitting their troubles

Get rooted in Christ, so you can be like one of those trees! You can bring beauty to an ugly situation, healing to the broken, shade to those who are in a heated place, and the Fruit of peace to those that are in a storm.

This is the first Jude Mathis episode that almost made me cry, i feel for them. I applaud the women, she gets a big hug from me. I hope the brother succed in his help. Good people.

I fell victim to opioid addiction as well dealing with the pills it’s a hard fight but with gods help and a loving family anything is possible and can be easily possible

My uncle passed 3 weeks after being diagnosed with cancer! The craziest time in our life!

Something just ain't right with this case and their stories behind it. Neither one could say or remember exactly why the TV was moved and where was she moving to or at all. I can understand the defendant not recalling too much about it but the plaintiff was just as confused. Something seemed off about her and how she spoke. I think this case was bs, nothing made any sense. She specifically said she moved out of his house 6 weeks later but yet they both agreed she owed 5 mths of rent?? Lol! I know she wanted to get him help but they both took a risk with making this whole bs case up.

Wow, didn't know Judge Mathis lost his brother to cancer within 90 days of diagnosis. I'm grieving my friend of 20+ years. She was diagnosed and passed within 60days(12/28/23). We are all still in shock 😫

Very sad and unfortunate case involving siblings. Never been a fan of family suing one another which is why I'm glad I don't have any sisters or brothers. Being the only child is the biggest blessing of all because I never had to share anything with anyone.

Everyone sayin JM got mad at the defendant because he didn’t laugh at his joke and I don’t think that was the case. I think JM was trying to lighten the mood after such a serious conversation about his addiction. Not realizing that the defendant may just be a serious person and that’s his demeanor. However, he was able to get him to crack a smile.

Mathis never offers Black men rehab, he makes jokes. According to him you are never an ex drug addict, but he can be an ex drug dealer I think reparations are in order for the lives he destroyed when he was out there slinging dope. I wish I can find somebody who actually bought drugs from him back in the day.
