building in the sims 3 is far more tedious than what we are used to in the sims 4, so I decided instead to rate and judge every house that the EA developers built instead of building new ones myself

The Sims 3 Pets was the first expansion pack that I convinced my parents to buy for me so this video was super nostalgic. I remember trying to build my first house in this world and being super upset that my build looked absolutely NOTHING like the other houses 😂

Appaloosa plains it's by far the most nostalgic city for me, i had so much fun back in the days being the vet cowboy who was trying his best to have his own country to creat a farm and have a bunch of animals living in there, it's just too good for me.

Hay stacks is not just decorative elements of the farm houses, but something that horses actually eat in the game. So if you don't wanna starve your horses you need hay. But your sims can also woohoo in the one of the stacks.😏

Pools like that do exist they’re called lap pools that are usually pretty narrow and long and are used for exercise to swim laps in. I think the one that was showcased was a bit *too* thin, but it gets the point across

@@Rekowcski Oh yea I agree! They made it two tiles wide which looks too skinny in my opinion. Whenever I made lap pools in the sims, I make them at least three tiles wide

Idk if you know this but for anybody who isn't aware of this, "Cave Canem" is Latin for "Beware the dog" and I love that they used that here (and I love how I caught it since it's one of few things I remember from Latin classes lmao). Also, great series, been binge-watching it lately.

You're right! Canem totally sounds like a Latin word that makes so much sense! We no longer learn Latin in Canada unless it's college level so I would never have figured this out! Thank you! I still don't know what a "domicile" is hahah and EA uses that a lot

I knew you would like the crazy cat lady house. I like a thing about her, and that is hinted she became crazy thanks to being a lab subject (she retired from that). Nice video. I will stay here chilling, waiting for you to see the Parrott house, which i think is one of the worst (I only have terryfing flashes of electric blue somewhere and the house being super dark at the same time?)

I looked into the families that own these houses, and the owner of the Metropole Manor is hydrophobic, so why he has a massive swimming pool is anyone's guess.

I do just want to say that the crazy cat lady in the first house I think is supposed to be living in the downstairs. There is a single bed in the living room and the whole house screams "empty nest but can't let go of things from her kids" the Foosball table and the bedroom wallpaper support that for me. So i think until recently she had an adult child living in the upstairs

By the midpoint of TS3, development of Expansion Packs was divided between two teams: Maxis Salt Lake (now closed) and The Sims Studio. Salt Lake developed and released Showtime, Supernatural, University Life and Into the Future, were composed of former Maxis employees (I remember they joined by Supernatural and were on the original team for The Sims), and were noted to be more creative with their themes and the game. I wonder if the better-designed and more detailed worlds from early expansion packs (like Riverview or this one, which reminds me sometimes of TS2 buildings), were made by the future members of Salt Lake. As always, EA is pretty secretive about who's behind the game (other than senior producers like the infamous Grant Rodiek and Lindsay Pearson), but I'm very curious about how exactly they developed the expansions and the worlds and sims. Surely they had very entertaining reunions!

Hi I just want to say that I bought the supernatural ep a few days ago after watching your review of Moonlight Falls building!! I had always been hesitate in terms of playing occult characters but now I feel I had been missing out a lot!! Moonlight Falls was beautiful and the occult was so much fun! Love your video!

Crazy Cat Ladies house is interesting. The chimney does look out of place. It would probably look better if the bricks looked older. They're too bright and stand out from the rest of the house. 5:50 the house is ugly and seems like a mish-mash of styles but it does seem to be exactly what someone with bad taste would make. I mean, comeon, she's got lime green diningroom chairs! Who does that? One thing I've noticed since I started watching your videos is how often Sims uses green in their bathrooms. I guess bathrooms can't be any other color? I'm not a big fan of green and orange together but then again I lived through the avacado green and orange phase where Every kitchen was those colors! Avacado green fridges and stoves...ugh. I really like these. Keep it up!

Appaloosa Plains was one of the most polished town when it comes to the details. I prefer style of Moonlight Falls, but I like the coziness and country style in these houses. The new patterns, that came in update before release of this pack, was very themed with all that pets and animals on them, yet they were enough faded and vintage, that they could've been use in most houses, without looking childish. Comparing with patterns from base game, that was categorized as "themed" patterns, EA was very subtle with the new ones.

I’ve been to a farm from time to time, was white trash farm though, like camouflage couches and stuffed deer heads on the wall with like wooden panelling and a cabinet from the late 1800’s in the corner. One the bedrooms had pepto-bismol pink walls with some mid 80’s furniture.

@@Rekowcski Yeah, It’s was my Grandfather’s, he built it the 60’s, and my cousin inherited it when he died. That cousin has a tattoo that says “Absolut Redneck” and yes, it’s the vodka brand, the logo was in the middle.

If you want to check something out that follows a similar vibe to that house in the middle of downtown. Check out batteries not ncluded. A tiny alien spaceship lands in this run down house in the middle of this city that this developer and builder wants torn down to build a huge skyscraper on the land. The little aliens are robots that keep rebuilding the house no matter what this man does. Even has the house burned down. But the aliens rebuild the house. In the end the builder leaves the house and the tenants where it is and builds around it. It is a cute movie too.

Just to let you know, the farms with horses are more realistic with lots of open areas outside, for the horses to run, and I hope you do realize, you should always see hay bales where there are horses (so, I hope that won't be affecting scores). Just whatever you do, do not populate horses in every world, because they will get stuck in awkward places (i.e. Isla Paradiso).

You should try to study interior design for doing these vids. The styles make more sense when you can recognize the era the furniture is from and what homes look like in different parts of the US. To me these are furnished in a late 70s design and probably set on the east coast. Country homes are often out of date as well.

LOL. i've been playing in custom towns for awhile, using player-made houses, and then the other day when i was testing out hidden springs and aurora skies after downloading them... OOF. the hidden springs house i plopped my test sims into had just the Most wallpaper ever. i was in awe. bright orange and floral everywhere. check it out if you haven't yet LOL.

I'm actually thinking of doing that for a couple stuff packs soon, but for the EPs we have to finish the occupied lots first, maybe season 2 will be the empty and bin houses tho, people will want to see everything im sure

Hi, usually it's best to start a new game (click the plus sign on the main menu) and select it from the drop down menu. ALSO If you are new to the sims 3, make sure you download "Riverview" from the sims 3 store... it's free if you purchased the base game!
