This video is a step-by-step tutorial for the way that I cast on, using “Judy’s Magic Cast On” when knitting Toe Up Socks in the "round", using the "Magic Loop" method of knitting. There a lots of variations for casting on, but this is my “go-to” method.
If you can cast-on and comfortably Knit the "knit" and "purl" stitch, you'll be able to follow this tutorial to start knitting your own socks in the round from the toe upwards.
This is also the method that I use for my Toe-Up Sock Knitting Pattern, that has been used in my Workshops.
When I’m knitting socks and using standard (UK) 4 ply sock yarn, I like to use a size 2.5cm / 80cm length circular needle, but if you are using this method for your own pattern, you’ll need to follow your own patterns “materials” requirements.
Yarn Used in the Video:
Stylecraft Head Over Heels, 4 ply Sock Yarn.
Circular Needle used:
Addi circular - size 2.5mm - 80cm length
