i never comment on youtube videos but i have to say this is one of the few guys that adress the real issue from within. This is revolutionary and contradicts all the "personal development" videos that talk about some drills to get better (and the web is full of them). You have to dig deep to succeed and we need more people like Julien passing the message.

@@JulienHimself you said to expose yourself to social anxiety and repeat but isn't this desensitization? what is the difference? in both you are doing an action to remove a fear or something else
@immortal6072
@immortal6072 2 ай бұрын
@@deepshadow1 the opposite, you are doing It to trigger yourself and let go of the resistence you have towards your feelings (what you want is to feel as much as possible). When you accept your feelings there will be no more ego trying to hide a part of you. That's when you will be free, when you dont fight yourself for things you believe are not aceptable in your personality. Therefore social anxiety will disapear. But you dont do this to remove fear or bad feelings, you do this to be ok with yourself which leads, unavoidably, to the end of your illogical triggers (all caused because of not accepting your "trueself".)

Shadow Questions 1. Why isn't success for me? 2. Why am I not good enough? 3. What am I hiding? 4. Why does life have to be hard? 5. Why do I hate myself? 6. Why don't I deserve love? (i added this one) For me personally, I found the same answer of "because I don't work hard enough" popping up for questions 1, 2, 5. I'm actually a pretty hard worker, but I always feel like I can be doing more (because it's true) and I feel guilty when I watch TV, play video games, etc. @JulienHimself how do I dive deeper into this belief so I can learn to let it go?

I think you don't dived enough. The ssecound question almost allways goes back to your childhood. For me for exemple I discovered that I didn't feel enough because my parents allways had high expectations of me. Probably you feel that you have to work hard because that goes back to your parents or teachers. Probably your parents expected too much of you. Why do you feel that you have to work hard?

Julien this video gave me the most valuable piece of the puzzle i was trying to find. may the universe god bless you. Short story short, i had a subconscious standard that I used to use to give me my self esteem and self value, worst part is, it was something I don't even want, need, like or even agree with, it was put there by something else, as soon as that was brought into consciousness I'm FREE, I'm tearing up, thank you so much. @@RyzeMaster Everyone's "how" may be individual and specific to them. A lot of what they do is essentially quite conventional psychological therapy in that you look at what your limiting beliefs, traumas, limitations etc and work on getting over, around them. They can't really give you "how" when speaking to a general audience as the problems that people have can be varied. A lot of the advice they give is highlighting so typical and popular limiting beliefs and habits that you MAY have so at least you can then see them and recognize them in yourself. Then in future you can ignore or workaround these issues. Thereby "solving" it. Learning about the biases of your own brain (like what they teach) is super important and really does help. I would imagine (I have not consumed any of their products) that essentially they are practitioners of CBT kzfaq.info/get/bejne/jc59oL17mK6VdWw.html and use typical coach/mentor techniques. I agree in that they should use more case studies, examples on the how. And testimonials. It's decent content though IMO.

if julien and rsd is gonna go to the mental self help psychology stuff, it's a total rabbit hole. i was doing that all through my teenage years through my early 20's until i grew out of it. what i gradually realized is: it's an infinite rabbit hole with may fake twists and turns(unless you dedicate your life to achieve enlightenment like the budhists or zen monks, you can achieve it maybe in 10+years of full dedication), so what i realized was l find life much more interesting than achieving enlightenment, and i chose all the wonders of life and plus i just outgrew it because i got older, also remember this: if you think you have a problem, you do, if you don't think about it and focus on something else you want, you'll forget about it. that's why i find it kind of funny that our paths are going in opposite ways...life is so interesting.

I quit gluten took some supplements and could realy feel my body again (before i always had this odd feeling of not feeling real and was very spacy and absent as a child). Now self love comes really natural to me and i take better care of myself. If you have similar experience doing the same might help you.

Brilliant and complete talk Julien. I want to ask though, usually working out, meditating, connecting socially does lessen the symptoms of trauma and raises our 'vibration' so to speak. is it advisable to ditch all that in order to more easily identify our shame, trauma and triggers, for the period of releasing them and working through it?
@FOURTEEFIVE
@FOURTEEFIVE 2 жыл бұрын
you do those healthy practices so that youre more often able to be present and observe yourself. Then you can push yourself to do things that you want to do but normally wouldnt because your past trauma (subconcious) tells you that its a bad idea. You identify your shame and trauma/triggers by pushing yourself to do the things you have identified as scary but good. The more you do this and have positive experiences (you will have positive experiences if your logic is sound) the more your body will recalibrate and welcome those actions instead of fearing.

You mention these deep subconscious thoughts are what run us. If that's the case and is just a fact of the human condition, then it seems to me like letting them all go doesn't make any sense, because then what's left to run us? Instead I feel like the advice should be to replace them with thoughts that are positive for us. An example for my case is speaking up in group conversations (generally 4 or more people is where it starts to get difficult for me). Growing up I can recall times where I'd attempt to speak up in these situations and I would get ignored or my joke wouldn't get any laughs, or even worse I might get told to shut up. Each time one of these negative things happened, they reinforced the subconscious idea that I should not speak up in these situations. This becomes self perpetuating as well, as in the times where I manage to overcome the voices telling me not to speak, those voices are still holding me back and cause me to speak quietly for example, which leads to me being ignored and the belief being reinforced. Advice to just let the belief go doesn't seem actionable or even really possible to me. The solution is to convince yourself that the belief is false (at a surface level) to enough of a degree where you can for a brief moment (in my example) speak up in a group setting loudly and confidently, and from this you get a positive reference experience that challenges all the negative reference experiences you've accumulated. Then with enough positive experiences you replace that old negative subconscious belief with the new positive one. This got a bit long but I hope it makes sense, and I'd be keen to hear others thoughts on this.
