The noise is caused by the GPS navigation unit's warning settings. It has warnings for a multitude of things, but this specific one warns you with the annoying ping sound whenever you go faster than the allowed speed for the specific road. My Kadjar has the same warnings and annoyed me too. Quite easily turned off on the R-link 2 system.

We have a Koleos, and I can assure you, the -very annoying ! - speed beep/warning can be turned off, it drove me mad as well ! 😵😉 Strangely enough here in France/Europe you can only get this car with two diesel engines (not that I would even consider a petrol one at 9-10l/100km, ha !), and recently they were replaced by two new - more economic and eco friendly-ish - diesel engines. I loved your review by the way, although more giggle than info 😉

A dci engine would have been ideal Toyotas 2.5 NA makes 150 odd kw and paired to an 8 speed Mazda is close behind The 1.6 t or even dci woukd have made it a much better vehicle
