Dear Julija, I've watched several of your programs and always enjoy them. Thank you for mentioning my book--Couture Sewing Techniques. You are right; couture is not for everyone, but you can't sew couture unless you start with good basic techniques. I am contemplating another edition; do you have any suggestions?

Absolutely agree. The Alison Smith book is fantastic for everyone's sewing journey. Even if you have been sewing for a long time it's great for reminding yoy of techniques you may not have used for a while. The couture techniques one is also good for information on dealing with fabrics and methods you may not use often and preparation for good end results even if you don't necessarily use all the techniques. The metric pattern making has been on my list for a while now. 🤔 Think I'll have to look at it again. Good informaton Julija . Thank you.

Readers Digest Complete Guide to Sewing is my favorite. It was my school sewing book in 2 universities. Pattern making isn't really a sewing book, its pattern making, not made for the novice. So the Readers Digest one is a fantastic book for somewhat beginners, to advanced Sewers.

I recently bought the ebook of Readers Digest Complete Guide to Sewing, the 2022 version. Im a bit disappointed that basic pattern making is not included in the book. There is a comprehensive guide to alteration of pattern but no basic pattern making. I still have time to refund, I dont know if I should 😔

This dress is one of my favourite dresses ever, such a nice and very comfortable dress🤗 I made it using Burda Style pattern, it’s available on their website as ‘Plumetis dress 120’🤗

That’s what I did! Except in our country, sewing studies are a bit shorter (2-3 years)🤗 But I genuinely believe that sewing takes way longer than that to master and even after all these years, I still find something new to learn 🙂

Hello Ritty! Choosing a sewing machine really IS confusing, especially for more advanced machine. It really depends on budget and what you’re planning on making🤔
