I got these on all my clubs, they were just magic for me. I was a club longer, and I just felt like hitting the ball became a bit more forgiving. I didn’t change anything on how I swing. I felt like it just added forgiveness. I will never go back

I have midsize grips on all my irons but recently switched to jumbo grips on the driver and fairway woods. I feel the jumbo grips have really helped my dispersion with woods. Enjoy your honesty when you test equipment.....keep em coming.

I recently switched to jumbo grips and the result has been stunning. I have big hands to begin with and I’m left-handed. I spent six months troubleshooting why all my shots were going to the left even though my body was open to the target I was hitting the ball square each time, and I could literally turn parallel and be standing completely straight and still have my shots go left. I finally discovered that the reason they were going left in my case, was because my dominant hand was the one putting the power in to the shot at address through follow through. Once I increased the grip so that my right hand fit firmly around it I’m now able to keep that right hand in front of the ball and control the club more. Shots are straighter and shots are higher. My handicap went from a 28 to a 15 over a period of about four weeks practicing every day and playing five rounds of golf.

Very interesting! Thank you! It's funny. I learnt golf decades ago before modern wedges (we had a regular PW @48 in those days and an SW). But for chipping, maybe because of Ballesteros, we used all the clubs depending how far from the putting surface (anything from a 2 iron to SW) - chip and run with a putting stroke was the basic one unless you were more than a certain distance, but it's interesting to me how much that has changed. The versatility from using all your irons was something to this day I still like to do (use traditional lofts, not beefy modern ones)... Cheers!

I used to be quite "handsy" with my clubs. Always tending to pull the ball to the left. I went to jumbo grips about 10 years ago and my ball flight it remarkably straight. No duck hooks anymore. Also when I purchased my Cleveland putter a few years back I wanted the huge putter grip. It too, quieted my hands and improved my putting considerably. So from my experience...GO BIG!

I went to midsize grips in all three of my wedges 3 years ago. Loved them. So much so, I then switched to trying a midsize on my driver months later. Hit more fairways. Right then, switched all the clubs in the bag to midsize grips. I use Golf Pride Midsize CP2 Pro grips. I don't use a glove and prefer these as they are tacky. They will remain tacky for a 4-5 years if you wash them. I use a bit of dish washing soap in the sink and wash them once a week during the season as I play about 5 times a week. Also, I use a trolley and walk. No problems getting the clubs in and out of the bag. It's not a Stand bag walkers use. It's a 10" - with 14 way club divider

Had the same thought on fitting these jumbo grips in the bag. I have medium grips on my clubs and at times get frustrated with the jiggling and manoeuvering it takes to seat them properly. The less stress on course, the better! 😂 I think the feel element of jumbo's is like trying anything new, you'll just become accustomed to their characteristics!

Hi Andy another great video. I’ve change all my grips to jumbo max ultralight small has improved my game by keeping my wrists quite in swing helping to stop the low left shot which is a killer and my shots seem very straight at moment fingers crossed.so thanks for your videos on jumbo max grips it did persuaded me to look at other jumbo max videos on KZfaq ie Peter finch and finally get my set re gripped so thanks Andy , Ian

I’ve put midsize +4 reduced taper on all of my irons. Really helps with my arthritis, lightened my grip pressure. Hitting everything straight is easier and I found I could draw the ball easier also. Not really great with my wedges but haven’t noticed any worse with the midsize.

I recently went back to Jumbomax, right through the bag (Med UL). I did it mainly because I'm not getting any younger and my fingers sometimes get sore if I play/hit balls a lot, which I usually do. They don't stop me from hooking the ball, and if anything they make it easier to turn the club face. I think it stands to reason that you apply more torque with a larger grip than you can with a skinnier grip. I mean, if you're trying to take out a really tight screw, you're going to want a larger handle on the screwdriver, not a skinny one. I've used them in the past also, and the only part about them I didn't like was having to adjust the swing weight due to their weight, and having to stick with a large bag. The new UL solve the swing weight issue, but the not the room in the bag issue. Availability is sometimes an issue, as well.

I had a cyst burst in my right wrist and I am a right hand golfer 4 months ago. Surgeon could only do a cortisone shot and then some hand PT. Still only thing that aggravated my wrist was golf. Followed the Jumbo max fitting guide so ended up with the XS ultralite and what a game changer. No more pain and I'm finding that the lag is better, overall just so happy that I made the switch. I tried my 58, 8 iron and driver first to see how it felt. Super weird but defiantly more staple with no pain so worth a try if you have any kind of pain.

I've put the mid size (not jumbo) grip (mid size grip ~15g heavier than the normal grip) on my 54 wedge and I hit & chip a lot straighter. Like you said, keeps the club head from over drawing left of the target, which has been my nemesis all along. Will put on the mid size grip on my 58 to see how it compares with the more nuance speciality / flop shots.

This will be my 2nd season using Jumblmax XL Grips in all my Clubs and love them. I only carry 12 clubs max in my Bag so fitting them in isn't an issue for me. The main benefits for me is a tighter dispersion, increased distance and no pain, for me it's a no brainer👍 The only downside is trying to use a club with a standard sized grip is now almost impossible to hold, so testing new Clubs is a bit of an issue

I changed to Jumbo Max ultra lite medium grips for all my clubs. Arthritis in my hands urged me on to try these. I have found I grip softer and reduced my pain greatly. I was pleasantly surprised to find more benefits than I counted on. A softer hold on my grip means more control from a more relaxed swing. Hands naturally turn over during a swing. There is no need to force your hands to turn over.

Thanks for that response Al : long story short I got jumbo grips on old clubs but didn't bother with new irons apart from keeping jumbo grip on hybrid. My hands are starting to get arthritic too with quite a bit of discomfort in ring finger particularly. Doesn't feel too bad when playing except when using the hybrid and if I slightly mishit (who am I kidding, when I mostly mishit!!) it's really quite painful. Really glad the jumbos work for you though.

@@DavesRabbitHole Thanks David : I’ll check those other grips out. Far too young for you to be getting arthritis champ! Hopefully doesn’t interfere with your golf too much. I ended up changing the grip on my hybrid to supposedly an ‘arthritis friendly’ grip - a Lamkin - but found that it slips in my hands some of the time … or it could be that I’m just looking for another excuse 😁

Tried jumbo grips on the gap and lob wedges (usually mid-size) but I found it was too difficult to get the club face alignment correctly set up for any length other than very short chips. Really bad from 50 yards and further - missing left and right. Tried the jumbos for 5 or 6 rounds, but I've now gone back to mid size on every club. Good point at 9.24 about using the same grip for all the clubs. The real problem I found at all points is that if you want to have your fingers under the grip in a given way, then you have to change the placement of your thumbs on the top. If I got my lead thumb under the pad of my trailing thumb then I had to change the finger positions under the club. This conflict created odd situations across all the clubs. Hence back to med size for all clubs.

I have nothing but good things to say about jumbomax grips. I use them and love them. But if you are interested in them, make sure your golf bag accepts the size of grip. Bags with individual slots for clubs are pretty tight. I have a ping DLX bag and the biggest grip I can get into the slot is medium. So just check your bag before you order. But as I said, I recommend them.

I just switched to jumbo max ultra light on all clubs except the driver. I'm 71 and probably about a 15 handicap. I'm at the range 3 times a week and play a round once a week so I hit a lot of balls. Only had them for about 2 weeks now but other than feeling weird at first, haven't noticed any problem with consistency or flight. Just takes some getting used to. Fitting them in the bag could be a problem as you mentioned here. Overall, it eliminates the pain (arthritis) I was feeling in my left thumb (I'm a right hander) so mission accomplished.

My experience is Jumbomax grips help relax my hands, especially given the effects of age and arthritis. Relaxed hands make for improved swing and contact. I do my own club work and did try different Jumbomax grips. I settled on JM Str8 ultralite medium on my irons and JM ultralite medium (tapered) for my woods. Do not be afraid to experiment.

I switched to the Jumbo Max grips after considerable research and trial. Initially, installing the Tour Series grips on my 5 & 7 woods and the Ultra-lite grips on my 5 & 6 hybrids. After about a dozen rounds, I decided to go with the Tour Series on all the other clubs in the bag. After playing with the Tour Series Grips for about 20 rounds, I made the decision to swap them out for the Ultra-lites. I just was not getting the feel for where the clubhead was with the Tour Series grips. Probably due to their weight (100g vs 55g of a standard grip). I did not find the "science" of the backweighting theory (i.e. heavier grip = lighter clubhead = more clubhead speed = more distance) to work in my case. I went to the JumboMax because I have consistently had a problem of regripping the club at the top of the swing for a number of years. My better rounds were always when I controlled the regripping. The JumboMax grips have almost completely solved my habit of regripping at the top of the swing. I have hit more consistent solid shots with the Jumbo Max grips. Another benefit of the grips is that I have/had a problem with golfer/tennis elbow on both elbows and had to wear an elbow support on each arm. I no longer have to wear the supports. The only downside to installing these grips in my view, at this time, have been 1) needed to up size the golf-bag to accommodate the grips; 2) the cost of a set (13) of Ultra-Lite grips in US$ is north of $250; and 3) buying new clubs is going to be an adventure because the "standard" grip now feels so foreign and different.

I have a midsize grip on my sand wedge that I am trying and will determine if I want either the Jumbomax or the midsize on my other clubs. I, too, am concerned about having Jumbomax on all clubs and the clubs fitting into my bag. Perhaps Jumbomax should have a "Jumbo Bag" for their grips!!

Switched to Jumbomax grips on all my clubs, Medium on my Driver and fairways, small on my irons and wedges, the best change I have made. I'm not sure why you can't shape your shots as I do not have any issue with hitting either a draw or fade. Think they do stop you turning your wrists over easily and for some of your wedge shots if you want or it makes the shot easier to play strait then that's good . You should try one on a putter. I put one on a few years ago just for jollies and never took it off. Took my hands completely out of the equation. Square the face with my eyes like every other club and it becomes an easy slight arc stroke. More consistent than anything else I've ever tried. As for hand placement, upper hand goes on in a weak position, lower hand lifeline goes over upper hand middle finger. I'm sure that will be different for everyone, but I would recommend you at least try it.

Switching to these. Already have big grips but want a bit more, and the JumboMax I had on my previous set lasted seemingly for ages, certainly longer than the "normal" tour wraps I had. Removing the "flip factor" from my wedges is something I really need, thank you for that comment and I can believe it. Ruined a great pair of shots today when my wrists flipped - have been grooving a more body turn chipping motion with good success - then today, on two holes, the dreaded flip with resulting thin shot and the ball going completely over the green. ARRGGHHH. When one starts making notes on the card it is really easy to find areas where strokes can be shaved off, and the pitch and chip are where I know I can rapidly shave some more.

As a former tennis player with a strong right-handed forehand, I am constantly fighting an over-active right hand. The jumbo grips help a lot, but are not foolproof. Why should any of us believe that there is a magic bullet that will cure all of our faults?

Unless there is a local rule, I'd check the rules of golf regrips. I believe that as long as they do not have bumps or excessive grooves and they are a round grip they comply.

Personally hate fat grips on any club, no feel. Prefer a small corded golf pride on my clubs and leather wrap on my putters.

I can see a conundrum. Seems like you’re going to lose a lot of feel with a “feel club.” I get the impression that you’re a bit perplexed as I am.

Not only will you need a new bag, you will also need all new clubheads that are heavier. Swing weight being the key here. Bigger heavier grips throw the swing weight off. Swing weight is kind of important, don't you think. If you are going to experiment with heavier grips, learn the importance of swing weight, find the the right swing weight for you then build the clubs to that swing weight, whatever type of grip you choose. Same goes for just adding tape. It changes swing weight. I'm guessing you will struggle with the feel shots because you can't feel the head.

They don’t fit in the bag is why you don’t use them!?! Makes no sense.
