Jake, that place where you bought the goats was very dirty. It was obvious, to me, that those animals were not taken care of. But you and Lyssa gave 3 of them a chance at a great, happy life. I'm sure Cooper was sick long before he came to live with you. Maybe next time you should get your animals from a farm. Even Little Foot had problems. That market should be shut down, imo.

Yes it didn't look good. Even Little Foot had a sore of her back. If you get anymore. I'd take them to the vets. If you're able to. You've taken good care of them. The one thing I did notice with Cooper was he was arching his back alot.
@kimberlyrada47489 ай бұрын
Don't buy animals from a place like that. Because the more you buy from them the more they keep bringing to sell. Don't buy from them and they will close down. Yes they suffer. But more will suffer when people keep buying from them.

Jake, you are doing the best you can. Lester has always said a goat can go downhill very fast and you can't fix it. You do the best you can but sometimes you can't fix it. Goats are one of the hardest animals to keep alive because their immune systems tend to weaken very quickly and you can't fix it. Don't beat yourself up for that. It is what it is.

Maybe take playground to the front of there shelter. Then keep moving it closer to where you have it now. Glad to see you are making a playground. Friends had all sizes of goats. Cutest and much loved by the goats was tires buried standing up of all sizes that started off small and then a tractor tire then went back down on the other side. Goats of all sizes loved climbing on those tires. The kids of my friends loved climbing on the tires as well. I was thinking Kash and Karter would love the tires as well. ( you will have to spray under the tire every so often for spiders to keep Kash or Karter Safe.

Jake I’d have them rechecked by a vet, I think there may still be something going on w/ Juneau and Ball Goat……maybe coccidiosis or polioencephalomalacia, with the first a simple dewormer treatment will fix them up and with the second a shot of thiamine will. You truly rescued those poor babies, the condition they were being kept in was atrocious and typically in those situations if one is sick….they all are. Sadly goats just don’t have a lot of fight and can go from Ok to gone in less than 24hrs😢

Good morning Jake 👋🏻 I would say tht those babies probably miss Cooper also. He was the male of the 3 and they all stuck together. And they’re still in a new place even for Little Foot. I’m hoping tht by now they’re going out there and eating the grass or playing in the pasture. I think they will probably always go back to their shelter spot tho. I know mine always goes in and will just lay down when he gets tired or he’s full from foraging all day. I wonder why emu’s like to peck ppl’s feet? Tht is so dang funny. I’ve not seen one yet tht doesn’t do tht. My friends emus’ name is Star and every time I would go to his farm she would follow me around and just peck my shoes. 😂I guess it must be a thang an emu does, LOL. Have a great day y’all. 🫶🏻🙏

In my humble opinion God loans us animals. What job the animal’s has to teach us or grow us in knowledge we don’t always realize on the surface. God also knows the length of time they are going to be here with us & a great caregiver is sad when God takes them back. God chose you to rescue them because he knows you are an awesome caregiver. I hope you wear the armor of God when viewers have good intentions of commenting on your relationships with your animals. Most of us know your skill with them & know you’re surrounded by skilled caregivers. As you know & borrow advice from Brie who who was a vet tech. Love & Support ❤

Hey Jake, I apologize in advance for the lengthy message but it’ll help you…hopefully if you take the advice!! I have goats and I also follow great goat learning channels like Deborah Niemann and Crystal on Blue Cactus Dairy Goats, Delci on A Life Of Heritage and Heather on Sage and Stone Homestead. But Delci on A Life Of Heritage has a Goat Binder and Parasites Binder which I also purchased from her that has VERY GOOD information in it on everything goat health down to signs and symptoms to look for and how to treat the illness from babies to adult and it also has record keep place to write down when, what meds you gave them its a great lil book she has. I know your not a “goat keeper” but it has some great information to have if you own any kind of goats. Now on another note your had me rollin about, your goats are not chewing on “nothing” they’re doing whats called “chewing their cud” 😂🤣 thats a great thing to see that tells a goat owner their goats are doing good seeing that. It means they feeling good n happy.😊 They are a ruminate animal and they have four stomachs and as they process their food the easiest way to explain in short is its almost like they are belching up the remaining food that didn’t digest and they chew it back and do it all over again. If their gut isnt right you have a problem and the best advice I can give you is LEARN YOUR GOAT…When you learn their behavior and personality cause each one is different you will catch on faster of knowing when something is off with them and its time to go through the different symptoms they having to know what they having and how to treat it but a goat is the kind of animal of Looking For 1000 Ways To Die!!! They are hearty animals but also very fragile and high maintenance and can get sick out of random and go down FAST as you sadly had to learn the hard way which I’m very sorry for your loss but yes Learn Your Goats and get that book because online research changes and is hard to get FACTS besides just opinions. I hope all this helps, I’m excited for the journey ahead watching your girls grow. Also a good treat to break the crazy skittish behavior and to do what you need them to do…Animal Crackers!!! You’ll have them literally eating out your hand in no time!!! God Bless from Summit, Mississippi
