Book racks/shelves on the walls by their beds keep the books off the floor, and they are handy for the kids to choose a book to read in bed.

After seeing just this for 1 day of the year, you can see how much you deserved your anniversary trip away to treat yourselves. It’s always about doing things as a family and giving to your children. You really deserve all the good things that happen to you. Treat yourselves more often when you can. Like a spa day from time to time.

My son has 3 children: 7, 4 & 2, both he and his wife work. I told him for Christmas I would spend a few days sorting, tossing and organizing toys, stuffed animals and clothes. Toy boxes-ugh! Everything ends up tossed in all in pieces. A toy sheIf-with a limited number of toys that are rotated weekly- work much better. It helps children to learn how to be organised. It teaches them that things have a place. You can see easily if pieces are missing from jigsaws or building sets. Clear plastic boxes, labelled with a pictured of the toy, and the printed name, help children to put pieces away. At first you'll need to help them, but eventually they'll do it themselves. You can buy shelves that are especially for jigsaws-it may be worth looking into. There were 5 of us kids in a small 4-bed housing commision home. All our toys were in our rooms- initally on sheliers mace from orange boxes. Everything was labelled. In winter, we played in the tiny lounge room, which is where our one heater was. We were each allowed one toy to play with there. In my case, that meant my doll cradle, high chair, pram and assorted paraphernalia . Before we were allowed another, that toy had to be put away tidily before we could bring out another. It's work at first, but much less work in the long run.
