Just cause is really just a game built around a physics engine,

Just Cause games have always been games that I play once or twice every week for a few hours to unwind and have some mindless fun. Some shallow entertainment with great visuals is all I ask for and every Just Cause game has been able to deliver exactly that.

This game had like no marketing push. I didn't even know it was a thing until a couple of months ago. Might pick it up when it goes on sale though, I loved Just Cause 3

In short, if you like Just Cause, you get more Just Cause. I like Just Cause, so I like Just Cause 4.

Map improvements are amazing! In just cause 3 you had so much useless space on the map but in JC4 you kinda get to explore the whole map with the story, plus very part of the map is unique!

I love the franchise but honestly jc4 is a miss for me. The whole not blowing up bases to take over, lack of pistols..... Just wasn't there for me.

Personally, I feel like Just Cause isn't a game that you'd buy day one. Sure, it's insanely fun but gets old after a while. I'll wait a few months when it's $15.

I have been a Just Cause fan from the start and every time they release a new one I get excited. I have to say the 4th time didn't work for me. I was expecting something wild based on videos before launch, and the tv ads looked great (I know I said tv ads). They fixed the challenges then took most of the destructible fun away. I liked having to blow things to hell to clear a town. In 4 you have to get the Black Hand after you before blowing things up mean anything. The vehicle handling isn't better, graphics aren't up to par, and why take away the c4. It's time they shake things up or I'm not sure I'll be in for Just Cause 5.

I don't get it, what do game reviewers expect from game series? Rather than more bells and whistles, new story, weather system and better graphics? I would hate to be a game developer

In JC3 I had this clip where I was goofing around on top of a fighter jet, walking down the tail and just having fun. Then I turned around and saw I was flying straight in a mountain. I meant to jump off but hit the re-enter button instead, just as the jet crashed and exploded into a million bit of shrapnel confetti. The only thing left was the cockpit and in bouncing down the side of the mountain, each bump I looked away and did that "oof face". Finally the cockpit came to a stop at the bottom of the mountain and Rico got out unscathed. I wish I still had the clip but it was on my first ps4 that had gotten stolen.

i loved JC3. I modded the hell out of that game. playing JC3 with my friend and figuring out all the weird and over the top shit we could do with the grapple hook was the bomb, literally. I played JC4 a bit with the same friend and had a similar blast. This time, he owned the game.

Although the basic gameplay is pretty similar to JC3, they really improved the performance and map variety. This entry reminds me a lot more of JC2.

I feel people’s opinion on just cause game is really limited to how creative you are, for example I had heaps of fun in just cause 3 when I tried to take a jet out of a cargo plane and then land back in it, I think it’s really just about how creative you are and that dictates the amount of time you will spend in the game doing crazy shit ur mind thinks of, everything here is dictated by the player and that’s my point of view. Please like so jake can see this 😁☺️😊

I feel the same way, I wish there was something new like a CREATIVE aspect, were you could play with your friends and have everything unlocked!!!

In my opinion just cause 4 is a very well-made game. I think if you spend enough time with the game, you start to understand the different systems and how they work especially the front line system. I think that is a great feature and it spices up the game a lot. With this one they changed it a little bit so you were not just blowing stuff up to take down the bases but you have different objectives you have to do and I think those are fun with the wing suit challenges, speed challenges, and different vehicle challenges. The reason there are so many hours of play in this game is that the transportation is extremely fun, especially when you have the rocket powered and weaponized wingsuit. You can just fly around and blow stuff up and do the missions whenever you want. Overall it’s a awesomely fun game

I'm a huge fan of the Just Cause series, and that love Just Cause 3 and was really looking forward to this one, but with that said, I purchased the game day one, and the game is a total technical disaster, from the graphics to the physics, everything was worse than just cause 3, this game was a total cash grab, honestly I'm surprised your review didn't talk more about the condition of this game on console. After playing the game for about eight hours or so, I was done, from all the pop-in in the graphics and it just overall looking like a PlayStation 2 and all the vehicles being blurry at high speed not to mention how broken the boat and flying Mechanics were, to the game completely crashing on me, and the fact that they make you pay an extra $6 to purchase the jetpack, which was my favorite feature of Just Cause 3 and should have totally been part of the main game and not sold separately and so many other technical problems with this disaster of a game, and overall felt like a total setback in progression. I will be washing my hands of Square Enix and any other games that follows... This game should not have released in this condition, and should have been delayed for another six months or year, so a Fair word to any fans of the series, don't purchase this game for another 6 months, until they start coming out with patches, because the game runs and looks like total crap in this condition.... unfortunately I paid $65 for the game and 5 days later traded it for $25, I feel totally robbed and disappointed in one of my favorite franchises ever! This was more of a letdown then Assassin's Creed Unity, a total mess of a game, shame on you Square Enix for selling this to your loyal fans. :(

I have the early release edition. It’s fun. Good game to just play for a couple hours then go off. I love all the Just Cause games, they don’t take themselves seriously, and it sets them apart from other games.

Just cause 3 was way better.. They removed things in jc4 that i think people really enjoyed and also made the game more complex when people just play this game to usually chill or relax

I just finished the story on PS4. I agree with your reaction. At the start of the game it actually felt like they were explaining all the new features too quickly. But after a couple hours you had everything explained and nothing really changed beyond that and it got pretty repetitive. To make things worse, I found that the new stuff was almost always pointless after the little tutorial to show it off. If there's a JC5, it'll need to bring some drastic changes to get me to buy it.

I think I’ll just pick this up when it’s on a huge sale and has been updated, with all the dlc, should be a lot more fun.

I just started Just Cause 4 and it honestly feels like a downgrade from the third game. Like in the third game you had 4 different weapons you carried and could use plus regular grenades and then you could start upgrading your stuff by doing the activities that you unlock after freeing cities/towns/bases. It’s kind of underwhelming at the moment honestly.

I played a lot JC3 and I have to agree with Jake, the formula is getting old and I don't think adding cool weather and some new gadgets will bring me back. The part I really liked about JC3 was its challenges, they were always fun and it was always felt like a rush trying to get 5 stars, it doesn't seem like they added much in this area. Like others have said I recommend you wait for a sale before getting it (unless you have never played JC3)

The tethers are also underwhelming in this game. In JC3 you could use one tether and pull pretty have stuff around with ease. In this game it barely lifts one thing with one tether. Put 10 on something and it probably doesn’t even budge

I played it today and had loads of fun, I enjoyed jc3 but I think I’m liking jc4 more just because I got it on my pc this time. It definitely feels new but I never actually encountered any big weather events but I’m sure when I do it’ll be really cool.

I've honestly never finished a just cause game, but this games objectives for bases look different, also I hope that the game doesn't have progression blocks because you need to blow stuff up to do story missions

"Bored before I saw half the map". This is pretty much me too, regarding several games that are just too damn big. I had a great time with all of the Just Cause games... for a while. So they were definitely worth my time... but I couldn't justify finishing them. Also... Assassin's Creed Odyssey. Beautiful, gorgeous Ancient Greece... but way way way too damn big.

this is my first time playing a just cause game...i have completed 2 missions and then have spent 4 hours flying

I've just bought Just Cause 4 after playing 1, 2, and 3. 1 was a promising start, 2 was probably the best so far in the series with a mind boggling amount of stuff to do, and 3 was very pretty. Probably the thing that most annoyed me about 3 was that you couldn't crouch or dodge roll. The flying controls were also pretty wonky throughout the series, but you learned to adapt and enjoy the experience regardless. I'll be playing and live streaming 4 as soon as it's finished downloading, and am very much looking forward to the experience. Excellent video by the way @gameranx

i personally like the shooting aim option is connected to the left trigger instead of the toggle of left thumbstick. and giving health buff so yoi can take tons of damage helps as well.

never played any jc before, this got me through my 2 weeks after surgery.

fun game for a stress reliever but gets boring after an hour or 2 it's more of a stress reliever game I'll come and play every once in awhile

I bought Just cause 4 the day it came out and it’s really fun, I have a lot of fun playing with the new gadgets and it’s pretty addicting for me but one thing I pretty much don’t like is when you’re dominating regions like in JC3 you had to secure like 5-10 bases to secure a region but in JC4 you have to take over an okay difficulty base and you don’t have an objective to blow fuel tanks up anymore I mean you could blow it up it just wouldn’t mean anything but the game overall is really fun and there is a lot of Easter eggs ( Getting over it, Fortnite, PUBG, high milestone club, etc...) You have weather guns too and it’s technically a war between the Army of Chaos and the black hand plus Tom Sheldon comes back

Well, i can finally play after spending hours on looking for fixes for the crashing that happens alot on pc..well, mostly for those running i5s. But seems to work fine now, haven't played that much because of that, but so far i enjoy it. To me it's mostly about relaxation after a long week of work!

I’ve never played any of the JC games but I found part 4 on steelbook at my local GameStop. I’m tempted to buy it.

Just Cause 2 was the best Just Cause, they should've stuck closer to that formula. just Cause 3 and 4 would be must haves then. Just Cause 2 had better terrain, better physics, better vehicles, everything was better other than not having the wingsuit
