Just read the patch note for D4 Season 1. - Fixed an issue where players are enjoying Diablo 4. - Adjusted the player base to play PoE more.

I don't play D4, so I don't know if season 1 will be great or not. That being said I'm one of the many waiting to see if D4 will get more content and excellent seasons, to buy and actually get into D4, and I get the impression I'll have to wait at least another 3 months before jumping into it. (its a good thing I'm a hardcore POE player though)

@@truuuupR Most streamers/content creators have Oppositional Defiant Disorder. Probably part of the reason they're streaming instead of doing a normal job where they have to listen to a boss. Quin has even said, "when someone tells me not to do something it just makes me do that thing."

if you search for contradiction in the oxford dictionary, right below "examples" you'll only see "quin69" written. Every single improvement to diablo4 or a simple sugestion like "allow offline mode/map overlay" and quin goes "LOOK AT THIS DOGSHIT! WHAT IS THIS GUY TALKIN ABOUT? NAH! You would figure the multi billion dollar company, who invented the genre, that charged over $70, with in-game currency, multiple battle pass system and some of the most expensive cosmetic packages from a AAA ARPG game would be closer to their competitors from the start line then what we are currently witnessing. I’m sure though after 4 seasons they may be closer to what other ARPGs were at years ago but this is sad that people think this is fine from a huge gaming and OG company…

Imagine having blizzard's infinite money vault and brand recognition at your disposal and your $70+ end product is somehow worse than what some bald dude and a few of his best mates cooked up in their actual garage lol. and that's not even to compare modern poe to "new" d4 (as if blizzard deserves that excuse to begin with). I would legitimately rather play poe v1.0 over diablo 4 season 1

I will concede that desync was an absolute cancer and made the game shit to deal with lol. fortunately our /oos macros are long since dead

What gets me for D4 is the play-your-way crap Blizzard tried to sell. It's not play your way, it is play these skills, and you might have a good build. Their idea of balancing is convoluted. Nerf what everyone is playing into the gutter and leave everything else alone. How is that balancing? The map overlay is not needed. When I was a teen, Diablo 1 had been out for 6 years, and the maps were randomized. Well, I'll tell you if you play a game enough, you will memorize the maps in the game and not need an overlay map. I played Diablo so much that if I saw the villager at the entrance to the cathedral, I knew I was facing the Butcher and had a 30% chance for the Lochdonan quest and the Demon General that guarded the stairs to the thirteenth floor to spawn, and 20% chance to get the elixir quest as well as the hell forge quest. Inventory management has always been an issue in the Diablo series; after 27 years, they still don't get it.

@@ddGrandahlgameplay is clearly better with d4, you sound new to arpgs, or someone who got into poe late. Poe is basically just mapping, gut that and it's some solo arpgs. Diablo 4 is greater in size and scale. In 10 years d4 will have more content and more shit to do as well... It's baseline as an arpg is many folds past any other arpg. It just needs content, content that's on a 3 month cycle... So 4 major updates per year not many games outside of poe are capable.

Well, I heard that David Brevik and the Schaeffer brothers from Blizzard North (diablo2) are attending Exilecon ... that's a huge win for PoE 2 . Diablo 4 depends on what the investors do next, they got some revenue now. They could leave it as is, they could do minimal maintenance, or they could reinvest into D4 and give carte blanche to the devs for a couple of years (unlikely). The fact that they are hiring for all positions is not a good sign after release.

They added gold into the existing system, they're not changing how currencies work in POE2, but yeah, probably for just certain mechanic/trade.

I believe it was confirmed that it's only for vendors. Though they are changing how chaos orbs work + removing scouring orbs in order to make rare drops more meaningful. The pitch for it was intriguing, but will see if it plays out as fun or not in the end :D

IIRC gold was mostly as a uniform base currency. PoE doesn't really have a standard trading currency for vendors, and having that with the current items still being used for trading and crafting sounds good.

It's true eventually you need to buy a lot of PoE stash tabs if you play a lot, but the thing is, you can probably play the game for dozens if not hundreds of hours before you need to make that decision. And yes, that is pay-to-win, but p2w is a spectrum, and there's a huge difference between paying for convenience, quality of life, and cosmetics, versus p2w for in-game power.

I played POE for 1000 hours before I spent a single euro in it. Granted, thats because I was bad at the game (still am, but a little less). And it was rough at times. But getting 50-100 hours in without spending anything is fairly reasonable. And when you do, you can spend €20 for the essentials. Ooor you can spent what you did on diablo and get a ton of quality of life + cosmetics. The difference here is the barrier to entry. Even if the two games were exactly the same in quality (which they’re not. POE is far ahead at the moment. And it look like it will remain in that position for at least in the near future) POE is free to try. And the only thing diablo has to compensate is better graphics (which might even be a downside if you’ve got a shit PC). The big downside of F2P games where both Pay2Win mechanics (which POE firmly lacks due to its PVE nature) and Microtransactions. And well, Diablo isn’t lacking in microtransactions.

If paragon is super simple, what is over complicated about it? It’s really easy to understand and super impactful to develop your late game playstyle. There are near limitless options on the way to maxing out all your stat points. I don’t see the argument you’re making

I will never understand why people are against having an overlay map... Even if its in the game, you don't personally have to use it, because as you say, you don't think its needed. I see no negative here, many people want it, adding it would make those people happy. Many people don't think they need it, even if its in the game, they can just not use it. Where is the downside to adding it, unless I am missing something?

There's a myriad of far more pressing issues that need to be addressed instead of what would be an almost lateral quality of life change for a minority of the playerbase. People aren't against the idea; they just don't care about the same things you do.

And one of the arguments people have against and overlay map is literally that people would use it all the time and not look at the art, which means its such a huge qol that you'd be at a disadvantage to not use it.

@@justespelund See, I think the AC is actually too important as a component of a vehicle. It would have been apt to use something like the overhead light as the example. With that being said, if you think an overhead light should be a part of the conversation where you are talking about getting the car to a drivable state you are crazy. No sane person would even bring that up, and if they did EVERYONE would look at them like "WuT mAtE?".

I played through D4. Beat the game. Have to be honest, I think the story is the only thing going for it. Tried to do season one, but started playing Battlebit Remastered instead.

Quin knows full well that PoE is a far better game. Far better. Just wait for his content at Exilecon. He won't sell his Blizzard cash cow down the river, but he will gush over the greatness that GGG brings compared to this D4 rubbish. Hell the lad spends far more time interacting with the PoE boys than he does with D4 fly by nighters.

I don't think he's shilling man, he isn't afraid to shit on D4 itemization or these new patch notes. He just appears to want to live in this disassociative alternate reality where D4 isn't dogshit. He's arguing on behalf of D4 as if it's what he wants it to be some day. But 100% part of it is kind of an act, like he's trying to intentionally trigger PoE guys and once he plays PoE again he'll do the same for D4 guys, if there's any left in two weeks.

I honestly hate the map overlay and the demonstration by Kripp for POE 2 didn’t look good to me. This is coming from someone who played D2 for 20 years with map overlay up the whole time while I’m doing runs. 😅

While D4 was never some sort of "PoE killer" or whatever, it has waaaaay too many bad decisions made, starting with something as simple as the horse summon on 10 sec cooldown and the rest of the fucking game... Literally at every twist and turn there is at least one feature, the way the feature is implemented, or lack of feature that should've been there, that is confusing/uncomfortable at best and not just feels, or appears, IS malicious (like incidents with "accidentally" activating premium season pass) at worst. Take first season story progression for example: I would like to get through the story, but I can't - gotta do those "fun" activities! By the time I'm done with diving into dozen cellars, cleaning 5 toilets and doing other crap to unlock next piece of the story - I already don't give a fuck about it, I actually barely remember what the hell it was about and I'm just skipping dialogs and exposition, whatnot so I can be done with it faster and unlock whatever seasonal features I still have left.

Quin is actually a perfect example of how gaming got to the point that it did. He will sit and complain for hours about a game... that he is currently playing for hours. If you don't enjoy the current iteration and practices of a game or development studio then you have to show some restraint and self respect and stop playing the game. Remnant 2 came out recently and they did the very same thing Blizzard did, they sold you 4 day early access to the game for 10 extra dollars. Guess how we stop games from doing that? Is it A) buy the early access and complain about it on Twitter or B) show restraint and not pay extra money for a game that the developers are withholding from you in hopes they can squeeze a few extra bucks out of the player base. The Remnant 2 devs are also removing some content from the game so they can sell it to you over the next year, and they do it because people will gladly pay for it. Stop paying these companies to fuck you over and they will stop doing it. You can't just hope all devs will be like Baldur's Gate and do the moral thing out of the goodness of their heart. Then you'll end up with 100 little Blizzards running around selling us full priced games with additional paid microtransactions, battle passes, future DLC patches, and 3 day early access to their games. It WILL get worse. Devs are watching Blizzard and copying what they do.

How is no one talking about the actual problem with Diablo 4. The entire game design is predatory. Everything was designed to be tedious and take FOREVER just so you spend more time in the game just looking at your character and the ugly mounts. Therefore making it more likely for people to buy cosmetics. Here is a list of 'features' I can recall from launch that clearly were just intended to make it take longer: -The campaign was absolutely filled with whole zones where all you did was run to the next door with nothing to even kill on the way -Needing a mount to travel quickly and not getting one until right around the point where most people become annoyed with all the slow and tedious running -Having extremely spongey bosses while leveling, no matter how min maxed your leveling was -Town layouts that are very obviously designed to just be annoying if you want to do any kind of crafting -Extremely limited inventory space so you have to spend more time considering every item's possibilities before deciding what to keep and what to vendor -Timed world events that force players to need to be logged in at the right time -Having to run to dungeons over, and over, and over, and over... -Absolutely abysmal drop chances on build defining/enabling unique items and no way to even attempt to farm them (just gotta pray to RNGeezus) I am sure there are more. That is all I can remember off the top of my head right now. Anyway, I for one will never play Diablo 4 again, or another Blizzard game for that matter. As far as I am concerned Blizzard lost their heart and soul when they merged with Activision.

People are so confused about mid game because it changed from eternal to season 1 with the nerfs. Eternal midgame started around 70, that’s when you started to plateau and it became a grind. Once they nerfed crit, midgame moved down to 45 because you end up in this ridiculous limbo between grinding tier 1 with slow progression or dying a whole bunch in tier 3 because there’s only one lvl 53 dungeon, but once your past that your practically at endgame grind because you start gettin sacred and ancestral… on top of that, you start to realize that the campaign to midgame 70 grind was literally the most fun part about the game. They should’ve just kept the same model as eternal and added more stuff to endgame. Instead, they took away everything fun, and added nothing to endgame accept these malignant sockets no one cares about. Give us back the 70 midgame and something like Kanai’s cube NOW, instead of 10 seasons later….

is it just me or did anyone else got the feeling that the droprate of cinders is lower than before ? i needed 37 !! minutes on my 100 Barb to get the fucking 250 cinders , i played 8 events and killed every mobpack with 10 mobs or more on the way... man blizzard sucks

Had this guy ever heard of alt f4 in PoE? It’s basically the same thing except it takes a quick push of alt f4 to save your character from death. You could just not use the potion or hit alt f4 if you want an authentic hardcore experience. With that being said, currently PoE is the better game, but I think D4 could be better with time and the correct implementation of good systems and mechanics. Also, I hate the stats of D4. Wtf would they add stats like crowd control damage? Just give us easy to read and understand stats like extra fire damage. They should also make more homogenous legendaries and items. I get that having class specific ones are cool but at least half of not more of the items are locked to a class. Same for skins, maybe I want my Druid to look like a necromancer. There are lots to like about both games and I enjoy both. Can’t wait for PoE 2 to release. Until then I’ll see you in Sanctuary.

While POE’s alt+F4 deserves a lot of criticism, its still a something that requires threat assement and reaction speed from the player. Barely escaping death with a quick Alt+F4 can be exciting

I love how Zizaran was hating on the druid after having the boys boosting him to lvl 60 and then he played druid ungeared at lvl60 . He started crying about 'rogue felt great', 'druid was unplayable' . Great opinion Ziz, let me toss that opinion right in the bin now stfu plz.
