Not saying these situations were exactly the same but there was Andrew Jackson when John quincy adams won with the corrupt bargain, also democratic candidate sam tilden when Rutherford b Hayes won. Bush vs gore went all the way to the Supreme Court. When Lincoln won the southern states tried to leave the union.

It goes back to more that a century ago when there was no Vax for the Spanish Flu. It is to ignore that hundreds of thousands of lives could be saved in USA if they were vaxxed for Covid19.

@moiral1964 Your comment reminds me of a scene from a Scottish comedy some years back when the three judges were robing and exclaiming how wonder if is to live in a democratic country with public trials, innocent until proven guilty etc. Then, fully robed, they headed for the court as one of them call out "Right... SCOTUS has lost all respect / this hearing was pushed thru to help Trump delay - they could have heard arguments a long time ago when it was first requested or just held up the 62 page opinion from the appeals court but instead they scheduled it for the LAST day they are in session
