Justin Herbert is arguably the best quarterback in the NFL. During his first two seasons he has passed for almost 10,000 yards, won NFL Rookie of the Year, been selected to the ProBowl, & completely changed the trajectory for the Los Angeles Chargers franchise. Before being selected 6th overall by the Chargers in the 2019 NFL Draft, Justin played college ball at the University of Oregon from ‘16-‘19. Justin grew up a couple miles from the Duck’s stadium, frequently attending games as a young kid.
In this episode, Justin shares his story from growing up in Eugene, OR to arriving on the biggest stage in football. Justin’s story is a unique blend of humility & competitiveness that has sustained him through the highs and lows of life.

Yeah, but at the same time, there are people who could never get a 4.0 majoring in microbiology no matter how hard they worked. So he still isn't giving himself any credit for his baseline intelligence. And, to be honest, I think he quite literally doesn't realize how athletically gifted, and somewhat intellectually gifted, he is. He doesn't even fully understand. Amazing.

JH would only do interviews like this with teammates or friends. He’s beyond grounded. He’s underground. This is what you’d want your son or best friend to be like. Even Drue was just astonished how interesting of a person he is. He does not worry what ppl think. It’s a cliche to say but it’s hard to do. It’s whatever his parents or coaches say that matters. If football ended tomorrow he would be upset but know he gave it his all and had a good time and move on with life. Football aside. He’s a special person that will also give back.
