Your general neutrality ( sounds weird or like a backhanded compliment, but I swear it is not) around nutrition and body is so refreshing. Your focus on functionality and smart training has been really awesome to watch during my fitness journey. As someone who loves being active and working out, it's nice to have your channel to turn to when I feel like I am 'missing something' in my routine. Thanks for being different in a landscape where it's really easy to just be like everyone else.

I really appreciate you saying that working out and being healthy is for your future self. So many times people are all "get the body you want now!" or something to that effect. I have never thought about my future self, and I needed to. Enjoy your videos, very helpful :)

Basing everything around daily walking is the easiest health motivator IMO. It elevates mood, lowers stress, curbs hunger, etc.. If you can move your body on a daily basis for 1-2hrs of normal walking, it has a domino effect into mindful eating and actual workouts 3-4x per week.

Taking the average (of step counts, or other things) is a great way to look at goals and tasks. I think we often put ourselves into unnatural boxes of time and forget that the wider-frame view is what counts. Kind of like the number on the scale, there will be fluctuations.

I do this with food as well. I’m tracking with MyFitnessPal because it helps me stay consistent and I used to freak out if I went over my calories for a day. But if I looked at the entire week, going over on one day had absolutely no impact as I was still in a deficit at the end of it. (I’m on a medication that causes excessive and fast weight gain, so being in a deficit is really helpful to stay mindful about my overall intake and tracking helps me ensure my nutrition is on track. Mirtazapine causes appetite changes so without being mindful, it’s super easy to overeat and make choices that aren’t that great. I can see how easy it’d be to get obsessive about it though, so looking at the big picture is so helpful for keeping a healthy mindset as well as a healthy body!)

Growing older has become my why for exercise and healthy eating. For mental health and physical health. I wish I had known about exercise reducing anxiety when I was younger! Another benefit has been my hearing. I have a moderate hearing loss that started in my mid-40’s. I was losing more every year, and thought I’d be deaf by my 60’s. I didn’t start exercising regularly until around 53. My hearing loss slowed significantly once I started exercising regularly, and I think it’s connected. Probably because of stress reduction and it increases blood flow to the ears. I’m almost 62 and can hear well enough to communicate with hearing aids. I also have increased strength, balance and mobility. I have more peace of mind about aging because of exercise and eating healthier. Thanks for the video, I enjoyed the topic.

Hello! I came to your channel from ObesetoBeast's recent video and just from this video I already love your content. As someone who in the past has relied heavily on fitness influencer "advice" for exercise, nutrition, and motivation, this is a breath of fresh air. I love that you're just sharing your tips being consistent with health, in general, isn't overly complicated, or even overly enthusiastic. For example, someone else sharing motivational content may say "just go to the grocery store, you'll feel so accomplished after!" but since that's a task you don't like to do, instead you found an alternative that does fit into your routine and schedule. For me, I don't want to wake up extra early during the workweek to make breakfast so I try to always have a banana with a protein bar or some protein balls handy that I can just eat on my commute or when I get to the office. Anyways, all this to say I really appreciate your advice and I can't wait to watch more of your content! 💛

Badly needed to hear that failure is a feedback. Kind of like what Sydney Cummings said that failure is forward. Often times I catch myself that I didn’t perform the exercise at my level of fitness, opted to do a modification, and I get so upset about it cause I didn’t hit perfection throughout the session. So these reminders, especially the last one, made me feel better. Definitely asking the why and celebrating small wins is great for overall mental health as well as consistency. I have to take note of those two daily, especially now since I’ve cut my sessions from 5x to 4x per week.

I’ve been delaying and forgetting to watch this video.I’m so glad I did. I love the perspective of “feedback” and “more data” instead of calling it failure! That makes the mind want to do better and know what steps can lead to which outcome! That gives power, instead of frustration! Thank you again! ❤️❤️❤️

You are so young and wise! I prefered the one before the last one. It may sound obvious but when you are about loose control (let’s say nutrition), feeling the commitment with the reason you began with the whole thing can be very powerful to re-gain control Thanks again

Talking about soreness I wanted to ask if it is normal to be always with sore. I have mostly a year of working out consistently, my priority is resistance training spliting kind of upper and lower body and some cardio in between trying always to keep the whole thing challenging. I have noticed progress in stenght etc but I wonder if is normal to have this kind of excercise muscle pain…

Ik this was posted a while ago, but I wanted to say that I love how you kept everything human. (That lowkey sounds weird haha) but you gave great advice for what to do weekly but also how to change things day by day. So thank you so so much for that!! Also, I did have a win today and I just really want to share it bc I'm feeling really proud of myself. So, I've been struggling with how my body looks and I have a full body mirror in my room (which I am cleaning while watching your videos haha) and I realized I kept walking over to look at myself so I covered it with a sweater so I couldn't do that. Anyways, thanks again for posting such accurate and relatable content ❤

Such a beautiful and wholesome video ❤️ I guess it kind of revolves around being organized in everything that you do and not just wing it every day. BTW, I have been making to-do lists and organizing everything in my calendar for some months now. I really felt I got to accomplish many more things than before, however, lately I have been feeling so tired. It's like I had every breath planed and it has become so energy draining mentally. This week I decided to put nothing on my to-do list daily (well except for my 9 to 19:00 job - yeah, I work over time 🙄) and just wing it. What gets done, gets done, what does not, does not. I did less stuff overall compared to other weeks, but I feel better. Have you ever been to this other extreme of over-planing stuff? Do you have any advice or something that helped you go back into your "normal" self? I guess we need to find a balance. But it seems so hard. I am either super lazy or super focused and over-working myself on all levels. Anyway, thank you for this video! I love your chill energy 🌺. You are so inspirational, Justina!

I've absolutely been in the place of over-planning. I recommend focusing on one thing at a time until it becomes a habit (aka it doesn't feel like a tedious chore you need to keep planning and focusing on.) Then add another thing in. Then another. Over time, these habits should feel as routine as brushing your teeth. But it takes A LOT of time to get there :) hope that helps a bit!

@@JustinaErcole thank you for your advice! Hmm, you are right there. As a perfectionist, I always try to do everything perfectly (and cramp as many things as possible on the schedule) so this may get a bit too stressful on the long run. I will try to keep things simple by focusing on one thing at a time, just like you mentioned. Thanks ❤️ BTW, I love the "failure is just a feedback" concept! It is really refreshing 🌺

Hi Justina, I'm a bit surprised seeing you doing a strength and conditioning workout, I believed you don't approve them 😁 (few days ago you said in a video...if you are doing strength with high heartbeats, you're just doing cardio). Did I get it wrong? Or you consider this just a cardio workout?

You don't shame people for not being extremely punctual and keeping a rigid schedule, and instdad you help us to adjust ourselves depending on how it works for us, and i value that. You are patient and real and that makes you honest. I had had problems before with fitness "influencers" that just gave me more problems with my relationship with my body. You instead have made me feel bettef about it and find easier ways to achieve my goals. Thank you so much for giving us accurate info and being transparent, it's very refreshing.
