This is so bold of Lee; boss of a guitar shop, around great guitar players and techs every day, playing for 20 years, and to be willing to go on camera with a tutor and admit how little he knows - very keen to see how these lessons progress- great series idea!

I've got to admire Lee for doing this on the youtubes in front of thousands of people. I'm not sure I could do it. Particularly knowing how awful these comments can get. Kudos to you, mate. Justin - you've helped me become a better player for at least the last 7 years. Your inspiration has also kept me playing when I started to get frustrated or bored. Thank you so much for everything you do.

It really takes balls to tell all your flaws and misconceptions as a guitar player to a professional guitarist/kung fu master while the cameras are rolling just to help other guitar players alike who are stuck in a rut in someway or another. A proper salute to the Cap.

Lees always approaching guitar as blues player. But I never hear him actually play recogniseable blues licks, from old masters. What Lee does play, he plays well, hes kinda got his own signature sound, without having to cop specific licks. I'm in a rut where all I play is known blues licks from others that i have picked over the years, throw them all into a jam...trying to play as many notes as i can..instead of fleshing out individual lick/words to create something new..makes sense. Definitely gives us rutted types something to explore. Justin your a genius..great vid guys.

The practice for 5 minutes on just one thing is a revelation! I'm a bass player trying and failing to learn guitar. Tasmania is like Melbourne-Lite, if that makes sense. We've mimicked a lot of their culture, even outside of the music scene. We're pretty blessed to have so many different acts in different genres, from Jazz to Djent. A lot of locals don't seem to appreciate it though, always in want of being somewhere with more hustle and bustle.

Mauricio Eduardo Santana, It's the weather and Poker Machines. Colder climates always have better music scenes, though Sydney and the whole East Coast was great when I was growing up on the Central Coast in the seventies, eighties and, well all late last century. Mand that sounds weird - "last century". Poker machines have ruined the live music scene everywhere they are and there's plenty of them in NSW Clubs and Hotels/Pubs.

Hi Justin....i just want to thank you with all my heart. Your channel introduced me to guitar and it has been a madness since then. You are my first Guitar hero and thanks to captain for starting this series. Love from India.

I've been playing for 50 years now. I'm still learning new stuff all the time, and this will definitely help learning some more. Tie this with jamming with better players and it all helps.

This is a great start. Justin's comments on the notes related to chords as letters related to words = Perfect! Also, I loved his comments about how thinking you have some knowledge is entirely different from practicing the knowledge to really learn the thing. Absolutely adjective - I'm at a loss for the right word! I can't wait to see more episodes.

I can't believe this is free, and I sure as hell wish it was when I was growing up and learning. I'd be much better today.
