Sadie Millie and Caleb’s acting was top tier! They are so talented

The acting in that death scene by Sadie sink and Caleb McLaughlin was top tier. Him calling for Erica was completely unscripted and improved by Caleb. The fact that those two got no award nominations for this was a travesty to TV. Joseph Quinn and Gaten Killed their scene too.

max’s whole storyline this season will forever break my heart. that girl went through so much this season just to lose in the end..🥲

My theory: Max is not braindead Henry obviously killed her, but El restarted her heartbeat but here's what Henry said happens after he kills his victims: "They're still with me, here" He points to his head, Max is basically being held prisoner in Henry's mind, she's not gonna wake up until they defeat him completely

I love how initially Davion wasn't a fan of max but had a look of pure heartbreak on his face when she died!

It is a crime that Sadie Sink was not nominated for an Emmy for her performance this season 💯

Sadie Sink’s acting was absolutely PHENOMENAL this season. the way she showed Max’s story, her acting and storytelling was absolutely heartbreaking. Same goes for Caleb McLaughlin! They are both so talented ❤️💗

Lucas yelling for help absolutely broke me. One of the most emotional scene i've ever seen, caleb and sadie killed it

Max deserves better. I can’t imagine how her mom must’ve felt seeing the letters she wrote and later finding her daughter in a coma with all of her limbs broken…

I love the "Erica Help" line Lucas delivered that line so well so much emotion

"Why would the death of eddie hurt that much?" words that were regretted after they were said

fun fact: joseph quinn who plays eddie actually learned master of puppets on the guitar for that scene and was pretty much playing the whole thing! he also got his own guitar signed by metallica and is friends with them now!

This “thank you!” moment when Jason died made my day😂

For me the reason why I liked Eddie so much was he was pretty understanding towards what Chrissy was going through when he tried to make her feel better a day his relationship with Dustin was cute, Dustin's one of my favorites and seeing him so heartbroken made me cry even more. Sadie and Caleb deserved an award for their acting matter if fact everyone does but seeing how well they put emotion into it was phenomenal acting.

Some things that need to be clarified is 1. El doesn’t have a new healing power, she simply was pumping her heart with her powers like CPR 2. Vecna created the mindflayer because you could literally see him forming the spider shape of the mindflayer when he was put in the upside down and you can see he has an interest in spiders from the flashback, so that means vecna controls the mindflayer

When young Henry is drawing the mind flayer. As a kid he was fascinated with black widows. So he drew a large spider figure. When he met the mind flayer he made a mental connection with it giving it its spider shape from his youth. Vecna controls the mind flayer. The mind flayer controls everything else

Ummm did yall NOT see that when Vecna explained how he drawn the spider he found the mindflayer and gave it form. And 11 said this is all because of you?! And he shook his head yes. Which means Miles that Vecna has been in control of the midflayer. B/C he was mad that 11 sent him there. He used the demigorgans and the mindflayer to try and kill 11. It's not that difficult

Mike says to Will in one of the last scenes in the cabin after El goes into the room and shuts the door "Shes upset, shes never lost b4" Vecna did win. He got his 4th kill that opened that gate. That was his only plan layed out this season. He was hurt while trying to do it but he still completed it. The only win for the kids is that El was able to restart Max's Heart. Vecna now has her mind. He said b4 that the kids he killed were still with him and pointed to his mind.

This finale was so heartbreaking. Max needs to wake up next season

Eleven is telekinetic, she used her power to squeeze Max's heart until it started beating again. Basically CPR.

Remember that the Russia group went back to the prison SPECIFICALLY because they wanted to help by utilizing the hive mind. Murray using the flame thrower was what made the vines release Steve, Nancy, and Robin. And when Hopper was chopping up the demogorgon, you can see Vecna also getting affected by it. Everything was happening simultaneously.

I don’t think people think of Eddie as a top tier character from the entire cast but rather that he was a very lovable character who became a fan favourite and we just really wanted more than 1 season with him.

I cried like a baby when Eddie died. And the scene with Dustin & Eddie's uncle. He was an awesome dude. And when El was reunited with Hopper, I'm crying again. This cast of young people are purely amazing!!

“erica help” makes me cry every time his delivery this season was immaculate

This was not a new power El had to revive Max. She used an electric shock to restart her heart like a defibrillator. But we don't know if she brought her consciousness back. I suspect Vecna has her.

They way I cried AGAIN when I watched you guys reacting to eddie’s and max’s scene even though I already knew what was going to happen 😭

The acting in this whole show overall is just phenomenal but I have to say that Sadie Sink (Max) and Caleb McLaughlin (Lucas) really killed it in this episode! That was some of the best acting I have ever seen and Caleb improvising that line "Erica help" killed me, I could not stop crying and Max saying "she didn't want to die and that she wasn't ready to die" was so sad! Eddie's death scene with Dustin was so emotional, their acting was amazing as well, and having that scene right before Max's death really drove it home. I could not stop balling. 😭This season really stepped it up and that is saying something because this entire show is incredible! The Duffer Brothers really killed it with all of these actors, they are all incredible! I love Stranger Things so much! ❤I can't wait until season 5, I don't want this show to end!!❤Loved your reaction to this episode! Sadie Sink as Max is the best casting decision EVER...

Here are some (long) explanations: 1) In this episode Vecna basically implies that the 'Mindflayer' isn't a conscious entity but some sort of large energy or matter that he could shape and control using his own powers (and his powers likely stem from the Upsidedown in the first place), and it's how he was able to get through the gate but his physical body likely has to stay in the Upsidedown to control it. Vecna can open gates on his own by making psychic connections to "rip a hole through time and space", but he never did it before since El kept closing them, so the Mindflayer was a larger threat that he just used to potentially find a host (Will and Billy) and kill El (S3 meat-flayer). But it could possibly have consciousness in some form, we might still learn more abt it next season. 2) El pinning Vecna against that beam in Max's mind wasn't how they defeated Vecna. That was literally her just pushing Vecna away from Max before he could finish killing her, yet she still succumbed to her injuries later and helped Vecna successfully open the gate. It was a joined effort of all 3 groups (Alaska, Hawkins, and Cali/El) that weakened him because it's all a hive mind. Murray and Hopper killed the creatures which weakened him and killed the demobats that attacked Eddie + freed Steve, Nancy, and Robin from the vines. Then Steve throwing the molotov at Vecna's physical form is why Vecna 'evaporated' in Max's mind bc he had to return to his physical body to protect himself, but he was too weakened enough that he couldn't fight back and just escaped. *To Davion's idea:* There's no way only Nancy or Robin would be tied up just for Steve to not be, and then have him face Vecna on his own. They all were in the Creel house when Vecna sensed their presence so all three of them were strangled. More importantly, even if Steve threw a molotov or shot Vecna, like Miles said, while Vecna would still disappear from Max's mind, he wasn't yet weakened by Murray and Hopper killing the creatures. So Vecna would've just killed Steve on the spot. And we know that he wasn't weakened yet bc it was Eddie who ran out of the trailer to then buy Nancy, Steve, and Robin more time, long enough to where he ends up getting attacked and is only saved once the Alaska team does their part, who is the most responsible for weakening Vecna and freeing everyone who's strangling. So everything had to work out in this way for Vecna to be weak enough over his control of everything, for his physical body to be too weak to fight back.

the emotional damage I experienced with this episode was just insane 😭😭 max and Lucas scene was literally crazy sad

Just to let you guys know when Vecna went to the upside down he created the Mind Flair witch is in the shape of a Spider the thing he likes the most as a kid. The Mind Flair is just a Giant Spider made out of Mist.

This season was absolutely amazing🔥🔥

Another thing I noticed; in episode one in the classroom when that girl Angela is doing her “Famous Hero” presentation, she was speaking about Helen Keller (who is paralyzed, blind, and deaf) foreshadowing Max for the Finale

Things I know from the finale: Vecna controls the mindflayer. We’ve been hearing Vecnas clock for 4 seasons. He’s been the one sending the Mindflayer after the group to attack them every time. Season 3, episode “The Bite”, when the physical mindflayer attached to El’s leg, it drained her powers and telepathically sent them to Vecna in the Upside Down. Vecnas monologue to El at the end of this finale, he says “I needed a way in, you kept closing the gates”, so when the Mindflayer (who he’d given form to and has controlled since he entered the Upside Down) was made to leave Wills body in season 2, before El closed the gate, a piece of the mindflayer was left behind by Vecna, that’s what we saw at the steelworks in the beginning of season 3. Vecna made Billy a host for the mindflayer and ordered him to build a physical version of the mindflayer to attack El for her power because El had closed the gate and Vecna couldn’t get through but he still had his psychic link with the piece of the mindflayer he’d left behind in Hawkins. That’s why El’s powers were gone at the end of season 3. They’d been sent to Vecna. I’m 100% sure next season will show Will has powers and it will be him and El against Vecna. This whole show is about Will. The entire first season was focused on his disappearance. The second season was his possession by the Mindflayer. It’ll come full circle in season 5. It started with Will, it’ll end with Will. And Vecna has Max locked away in his mind. Brenner says 001/Vecna “consumes his victims”, 001 told El the same thing pretty much in episode 7 in the lab when he tapped his head and said “they’re not gone, they’re in here”. She’ll have to enter his mind. See his trauma and rescue Max to bring her back to her body. Vicki (Robins new love interest) will be in next season. The last shots when we see the bio waste from the upside down in right side up Hawkins, it shows the school and Steve, Vicki and Robin looking out of the window. If she wasn’t relevant, she wouldn’t be in the shot. They just had their sweet moment, there would be no need to have another scene with Vicki unless it was setting it up for next season. That she was witnessing this with Steve and Robin, she’ll be in season 5. Duffer Bros said in an interview that Demobats don’t kill. Interesting. Massive blood loss is massive blood loss but it’s still caused by a Demobat……and they don’t kill….so 🤷🏻‍♀️

They did lose in this episode and this episode showed that Vecna is more powerful that El he beat her easy,the only reason they survived is because they all was attacking him at once,and it wasn’t just El pushing him up against the wall that made him lose control remember it’s a hive mind and when Murray was burning the demogorgan and the demodogs that’s what hurt him and gave them the upper hand to survive.

will is going to be the center of season 5 and i’m so excited! i feel like his storyline is never completed unlike everyone else so it’s gonna be dope seeing his whole plot coming together!

Nathan is actually not speculating. The reason everything was and is even happening is because of Henry. It is quite obvious he is the one in charge - each villain got "bigger/badder" as the seasons go along. When they showed how the mind flayer doesn't have form when Henry first goes to the upside down and he stands there and changes the mind flayer's form. This alone was pretty evident that Vecna used all of the "creatures" in the upside down for his own vendetta from the very beginning. He controlled the mind flayer, not the other way around.

Another thing, Vecna was literally controlling everything that was going on while also fighting El which means he wasn’t even at his best against El; that’s how he knew what was going on with Hopper’s team, Steve’s team, Eddie and Dustin as well. So Vecna is the stronger one. He gets stronger as he kills since the person he kills stays with him as he told El in the flash back. So I think Max’s soul/mind is with Vecna while her body is empty since El couldn’t find Max’s mind when she went inside to look for her at the end of the episode.

Loving the arguments. The mindflayer is a different entity and Vecna has control of it. When Vecna was Henry he drew his interpretation of a spider. When he was thrown into the upside down is when he sees the “mindflayer” and notices it can be controlled, then he turns it into his version of the spider he drew as a kid. He explains it all when he’s telling his story to El.

some people said they wanted a main character to die so they didn't like max surviving, but i'm glad they didn't kill her completely. i don't think killing her off would've sent a good message AT ALL considering she's a kid who's been dealing with s*icidal ideation (+ vecna in vol 1 kind of represented max's ptsd, survivor's guilt and depression) and was just starting to get better at the end of episode 4 and realize there are people who care about her and that she has things to live for. episode 4 ended with such a powerful message. killing her off would send the message that no matter what, no matter how hard you fight, you could never overcome your depression. and that's just a horrible message and takes away a lot of what felt so cathartic about episode 4 and it's ending. (+the duffers said max being in a coma instead of dying is extremely important to the plot of season 5 and not just them "cheating death" so i assume she'll play a pivotal role in defeating vecna, maybe from within his mind because it's implied her soul/mind got consumed by vecna, at least according to Dr Brenner in episode 8)

the reason it was "easy" to hurt 1 is because hopper and joyce were weakening him by taking out the demigorgons and hurting the mist taking out the "hive like" creatures which are all connected remember and they attacked at the same time even though it wasnt planned to be, so he was being damaged physically, mentally and his army that hes connected to which is why he got hurt bad but not killed, my theory is its because will is connected to the mind flayer and can be controlled like in season one hes still connected to it all im guessing hes been one of vecnas 'pawns' the whole time as a backup plan to keep himself alive in a bad situation therefore they didnt take out everything vecna had in order to do enough damage to kill him so he survived. kinda like voldemort with his horcruxes in a way need to get them all to kill him? thats my theory anyways edit: and where was will during the big fight he was at a safe distance as healthy as can be so maybe vecna was able to use will and their connection to give him the power or energy like a battery to get away alive?

I agree with Miles about the Mike's speech thing. El was choked. The Cali crew could see that. The lights were flickering wildly and usually that means something's wrong. Mike didn't know a thing what's going on down there, but he could tell that El's in trouble. He tried to talk to her, he tried to reach out to her. And that is just the right moment to tell her that he loves her and all that thing he said to her, hoping it will motivate her to do whatever she has to do in that mind battle. I think she's about to give up at that point (or maybe she just thought she could do nothing now that she's tied up), but hearing Mike's speech and seeing how Max was about to die gave her motivation to fight.

I don't think EL has healing powers. I think she used her powers to get Max's heart going again.

If I'm not mistaken Vecna is the one controlling the Mindflayer that's how he stole El's powers in s3 when the Mindflayer grabbed her leg. Obviously, everything existed prior to 001 getting sent into the other world (now known as the upside down) but Vecna made it what it is today. Yeah, he wasn't controlling it before getting sent there but he for sure controls it now especially with how powerful he is.

But the mindflayer was already in the upside down when vecna/1 got there but it was just a cloud of black smoke, he used his powers to give it form/shape like a spider (like his drawings), as remember he collected all them blackwidows as he liked spiders

Vecna is controlling the Mind Flyer; he found it in the upside down then manipulated it into his own image which was that of a spider. Will also stated that he knows Vecna isn’t dead because he can feel him now that he’s back in Hawkins. Will only had the Mind Flyer in him so he would only feel the Mind Flyer. It was Vecna who was controlling everything since the first season. He explained this lol

Davion Cameron the reason everything happened at once with Macy and Steve and robin being freed happened when Murray started getting flamed it’s a hive mind remember in season 2 it was established everything in the upside down feels what everything else feels. That’s why when you touch a vine the bats come they sense it. Also miles Nathan is right it’s implied that vecna is the mindflayer. That’s why el said “it’s always been you”. He created the mid flayer.

Yess u guys finally watched the finale. I am so happy I have been tuning to your Stranger Things reacts since episode 1. I love watching each of your opinions and thoughts of what you think about the plots and character development. This show is one of my favs as I remember watching the finale being emotional and excited. ❤️🖤💙

The Mind Flayer was already there in the Upside down, but Vecna merged with it, and then shaped it into a spider. Since he likes spiders. Vecna is the one in charge here, the Upside down always had creatures and crazy smoke monsters and those bats. But Vecna was sent to this world and with his power, used it to connect to the upside down. Remember those vines? He used those as a power boost (connected to his back) his psychic powers so he can can get into the minds of Chrissy and those other kids in the living world. So yes Vecna survived the assault and will be back for season 5. I also believe Eddie will be back in season 5. Yes Eleven is very powerful, but as they told her last episode, she wasn't ready to take on Vecna. She disregarded that advice and went up against him anyway, for round 2. Round 3 is coming in season 5. Oh, Eleven doesn't have healing powers, she jump started Max's heart. Max is in a very serious coma and remember Vecna takes what he kills. So my guess is her mind is with Vecna and her body is in the hospital which shows she is in a coma.

I don't think eleven is displaying a new power, she's using her existing power to restart Max's heart.

I love how Eddie knew that if him and Dustin climbed back through the gate, those bats would’ve just followed them into our world. When he said he’s buying more time, he literally meant he’s buying Hawkins more time to stay alive

The Lumax Scene had such beautiful acting from both Sadie Sink and Caleb McLaughlin it was such a beautiful performance and so Heartbreaking at the same time. Max just waking up blind with her bones broken dying saying she doesn't want to die was so Heartbreaking to watch just like Eddie's scene but even more because she's been in the show since season 2. It was kind of too late for her to change her mind after her Billy confession to get Vecna/001/Henry to show himself to her. Beautiful acting by Millie as well. I Loved how they made cuts with Lucas holding Max in his arms and El is right beside her from somewhere else their all 3 crying and and when Maxine dies. I loved how El literally discovered a new power to unleash and it was when she lost someone she Loved and she wasn't going to let her friend die and let her go so her strong will of Love and Determination made her discover a new power and she was able to save her best friend. She brought Max back to Life. I absolutely Loved that scene ❤ And now 2 days later shes in a coma and El can't reach her she probably has to go deep into subcautious to reach her because Henry did say all the Souls were with him and I don't think the Duffer Brothers would bring her back just to have her be brain dead. Shes obviously still important to the story so shes probably trapped somewhere and El has to go deeper into her mind to get her out. Max is now suffering just like Will was in the first two Seasons maybe Will can help save her since he can feel him cause she'll probably be able to feel him too because they've both been taken to the Upside Down by force. I want Will to have his Shining Heroic Moment in Season 5 because he's always been so scared. Max's poor bones are broken so shes all wrapped up and shes blind but I'm glad shes alive El made her true survivor. The other 3 were not that Lucky shes the 4th but gets to Live....

So… a few things… if you go all the way back to Season 2, Will refers to whatever he’s communicating with as he/him and now we understand why. He was literally referring to the entity as being male, not just using a random pronoun do describe the Mind Flayer when the Min Flayer is an ashy/shadowy primordial thing. If you go through the seasons you can actually hear the faint chime of the grandfather clock in the distance, notably the first time Will gets abducted in season 1 and in season 3 when Billy comes out of the warehouse after being flayed and confronting the mob in his vision. As for Max, Vecna at one point talks about absorbing a persons mind when he kills them, so that’s why Millie can’t find her, which leaves her mind/body exposed and vulnerable. A theory that I love is that we know 2-13 each had one aspect of 1’s powers with the exception of 11. 8’s power was illusion/cloaking. So at the end, Vecna didn’t leave, he used that power to hide in plain sight and make the gang believe he disappeared.
