Unison Raid is a move that could be used by two (or more) people by combining magic power and/or spell. It couldn't be successful if there's no trust and magic compatibility. It also couldn't be successful if the power of one is too strong/weak compared to the other. In simpler words, they have to be a perfect match. In this case, Lucy with Aquarius' magic combined her power with Juvia and used a strong water spell.

the pacing on those episodes is insane lucy fight ends, gray and erza backstory, gray fights, decision to destroy the tower is set by the counsil some Animes would have used at least one episode per theme here Fairy Tail puts it all in one and it does not even feel rushed

guess what, LUCY is the real PROTAGONIST in Fairy Tail not Natsu, the story is all about the journey of a young princess who joined strongest guild

Both of them actually But different role Lucy is the one that tends to narrate the story and most arcs involve them at their core like lucy and fairy tail is from her viewpoint whilst natsu is the hero and does all the action and the fights mainly include him

Natsu is the actual protagonist. You can see that in the "extra manga stuff of Fairy Tail.

Lucy represents us as viewers, she is the one who reacts to the eccentricities of the rest of the characters.

Again with this.. whether you like it or not She´s not the MC Hiro confirmed it in the most recent Maid Cafe interview Natsu is the Main Character & there is still the Gray livestream Hiro said Natsu looks strong because he is the MC but both Natsu & Gray has the same strength setting Guess what Hiro stated in volume 20 the Story is about Natsu and his search for Igneel Lucy´s *stories* are all afterthoughts soo

Btw Juvia is the Queen of Unison Raid. Due to her magic's versatility and compatibility with other magic type. She could easily merge with other's magic and perform strong spells. You will witness as the story progress.

I always liked that. Water is an element that can have multiple states and changes to fit its container. It's a very.nice detail for Juvia and unison raids

This is such a fun sequence. You have Juvia, who is looking to join FT for selfish reasons, but here is where she starts to really get into what the guild is all about, compared to Phantom Lord (Jose might have cared about h8s guild members somewhat, but Makaron is better at it)
