Fruits and vegetables is a sattvik food. When you cutting it , they not crying and not asking " Don't kill me" unlike chicken and goat. "Jeeva jeevasya jeevanam"- in this material world all forms of life need to eat others, it's low of universe. But human should eat sattvik food, without killing animals, like vegetables, fruits, grains and milk. Meat is for other life forms, like dogs, cats, tigers and lions.
