I don’t think we’re talking about Jiwoo’s SUPPORTED B4s enough 😳 I also didn’t notice that her supported range has expanded to A3/Bb3 to A4/Bb4! She’s definitely gonna move up the rankings if she keeps up the improvement 👀

I don’t think it’s necessarily improvement just a lack of prior material (hence the “estimated” in front of “supported range” in all of sootzubæ’s NMIXX updates). This very well could’ve been her sr since pre-debut.

@@user-fi9zq6xw6x True, I think everyone just heard Jiwoo’s stylistic singing in the beginning in that pre-debut cover and automatically assumed she had no supported range when she actually had it in her lol. I’m confident that we’ll be hearing her become more consistent in Bb4 as those notes in the video sounded nice and eventually get to B4 too.

Bae is sooooo close to being in weak to average, her supported Bb4s in Kiss show so much potential! She just needs to showcase more and consistent moments of support above G#4 and yeah like what everyone is saying, drop the Dua Lipa impersonator act since it does get in the way of her technique lol

I think it’s important stans remember BAE is not just a vocalist she’s also an artist now and if she prefers to use a more stylistic approach as opposed to a more technically-sound approach she should be able to do just that w/o ppl making fun of it (not saying u were) or saying she should drop it. Imo in BAE’s case technique doesn’t always have to be the top priority since for now it’s not like she’s the one singing the crazy high notes or anything like that.

She is in a Kpop group where vocal technique is only one of many factors in Kpop (or even not at all in some cases) so we all just need to be more patient when it comes to members who tend to be on the stylistic side of singing whether they want to improve their technique or maintain the way of their singing. Whether Bae decides to go the stylistic route or technique route, we should just accept it either way. Regardless of what she chooses, we know her potential either way. It’d be cool to see her incorporate her stylistic approach into her technique (e.g. Jihyo, Hwasa, etc.) if she wants to go for that approach but again it’s up to her and we should accept and support her either way. She’s young along with the rest of NMIXX and the group hasn’t even reached a year so again we should be patient with newly debuted groups. Bae’s already amazing the way she is and is definitely an asset to the group and not a “filler” member as some stans claim her as. (It’s funny that they say this considering that Bae can be the main vocalist in the groups they stan 💀)

she’s a very raw diamond in my eyes tbh. like she has amazing energy when dancing but the certain refinement is missing, she’s too powerful actually. her voice is great and she has rly good pitch and can also support up to like Bb4 but her style often stops her from doing so consistently. also she’s pretty but the styling she gets is HORRIBLE. feel bad, just because she isn’t your typical super skinny kpop girl she gets horrendous outfits and always the same boring hair :/

I can't stop listening to Kiss, but I don't think it's just because the song is good, but also because it's so satisfaying that EVERYONE SOUNDS GOOD. Sometimes it's hard listening to a song in which most members have major pitch and intonation issues, and cannot sing in their mix without squeezing their throats or being too into their noises. Some songs are even ruined because of it to me, and that's sad. I hope companies start debuting more groups like nmixx, aespa or mamamoo, because IDOLS ARE SINGERS AND SINGERS SHOULD KNOW HOW TO SING

In regards to this, their debut song was said to be only listenable because their talent carried it. Having a more gp friendly song added with their singing is so pleasant to hear.

Actually I liked O.O more than kiss Maybe cute songs ain't my cup of tea that's why But I really love the transition of O.O , that's why I also liked igab and Lalisa because of transitions O.O highnotes were not piercing to me and we're listenable unlike some songs

2:39 That is so insanely full. (fuller than normal for Lily's case anyway) I agree now with the argument that Lily's mid range might not actually lack fullness but rather she's just not very mindful about cuz its an easy range for her. Having such a developed sound up to Eb5 and even E5, it's basically a no brainer that Lily's mid range would already be very strong. Even if some people doubt her place as AA-P, the way Lily handles notes above C5~C#5 compared to most AA singers + her strong HV needs to be recognized more cuz there's a pretty clear difference in quality.

i agree tbh, it looks like she just dosent really cares about her mid range and only focuses on high notes, if she was more mindful about her mid range she prob would have resonated in her mid range

I lowkey think it's also to do with the fact that her voice is very bright if she sang like that along with other members her voice can easily overwhelm the others so maybe it's a conscious decision for her to tone it down . When she sings like this with haewon it doesn't seem out of place because of haewon is equally capable and there voices blend with each other but I guess you have to make some group sacrifices. Also notice how her best moments are always when she sings either solo or with haewon

Nmixx has been established as the top vocal group of the generation. Probably for a while now actually. I can’t wait to see them improve (hopefully a few of their lead vocalists can join average tier)

Haewon's C5~C#5's at the last chorus of Kiss were one of her best ones, wasn't it? It was really open and clean. Also those Eb5's in Let It Go were MUCH better in quality compared to her attempts in Move Your Body (tbf she was dancing and jumping around a lot)

I disagree on both parts imo. Haewon has had better C#5s but that doesn't mean the Kiss ones weren't good. Actually it just means that she's already pretty solid for those to not have been her best ones lol. The Eb5 in Move Your Body was better, and so were the C5s and C#5s. She was much more focused there even with all the jumping, and went all out with the chesty mode.

@@davidakbar4876 I know a little bit of dancing, mostly idol dancing. Xiaoting is a professional ballroom dancer(some would say semi-professional), she has like 50+ awards already and she was around 6th place globally in an international competition in France. The Isac contest was just like a playground for her lol. She should’ve just been one of the judges. She’s very fluid and precise with her moves.

No Nmixx debuted at the right time. JYPE released a statement that around Itzy debuted that they changed their training system, and Itzy were the first group under the new system. I’m assuming they still tweaked their vocal training even after Itzy debuted and you can see that in Mihii from Niziu and all of Nmixx. Problem with Niziu is JYP’s involvement in the group and the way he have the group sing.

Do Haewon and Lily use mixing (balanced/heady) or belting (heavy/balanced/light) most of the time? It's said that Haewon leans to more chestiness, while Lily is light. My assumption is that Haewon uses belts (heavy ones, I guess) and Lily uses heady mix. What are your thoughts?

Wendy didn't really improved that much tho (aside from her recent Eb5s), she's already somewhere around P when she debuted. Taeyeon > Wendy > Peak Yuju > Debut Taeyeon > Lily > Current Yuju * Debut Taeyeon was estimated around high AA or AA-P, dunno who's stronger between her and Lily. ** Yeah, Debut Taeyeon is stronger.

@@jaehyunsshoe9124 With how NN can still lose her stronger grasp of support even on her Bb4/B4's and her approach up to C#5 is questionable, both in quality and consistency, I'd personally place her around the mid A-AA. Winter is high A because her mid range is just too strongly developed, way more than the bare minimum criteria for most A tier singers. And from live materials, she seems to be the most consistent in aespa.

@@mambatheestallion1596 It's only severe in C5~C#5, the lack of diaphragm engagment starts to become more apparent unless she's really focusing on maintaining a more balanced sound (Ave Maria cover and Savage Mucore encore). Her support in A4~B4 is consistent, just not as strong and engaged as you'd hope as even in her mid range, she can let headiness overtake her mix.

Hey soobaetzu I have a request video next time please make a video on the way stand twitter reacts to some vocal moments they take a min of a singer being out of breath or tune and use it as a way to discredit a vocalist I have been seeing alot against main vocalist especially mainly ning ning ,lia ,caheyun some months ago and jihyo and rose in the last gen . It's funny is it not that it's always the main vocalist that have to prove there worth every second . The unbearable expectation kpop stans put on main vocalist is so high especially girl group ones but never on the the other members the other members can sing like jimin and noone would bait an eyelash and absolutely silence for boy groups (except enphyen but they get there fair share of hate because of fat shaming issue and rightfully so)

They sang BM, NL, ICU, Lucid Dream, Yeppi Yeppi live. But Girls and Savage are all dubbed. Also based on their few clips. They are constantly improving interms of singing live, they become more stable and stable to me bcs sometimes their nerves gets on with them but they all did so well!

I just want to ask is Mamamoo's vocal line better than BTOB? Ik Eunkwang is better that Solar but I don't know about the rest. Cause I've been think about the top vocal lines in kpop groups and so far I think it would be 1. Super Junior 2. EXO 3. SNSD then BTOB or Mamamoo, Also not sure about the placement of Shinee (ot5) and TVXQ/JYJ (ot5) but they might even be higher than SNSD. Then B.E.G and 2am below BTOB and Mamamoo? Also considering how strong HaeLy is NMIXX might even be in the top 10?

I would say IMO, Moonbyul is around BTS V level or so.

@Nuggies Maybe slightly exaggerated on Taeyeon's parts. Her belts A4-D5 are strong, but even if she went all out all the time, there's no guarantee that she'd overpower a lot of the P-G. Maybe up to Luna and Hyolyn (specifically until C#5 cuz above that, Hyolyn takes the cake by far tbh), but Taeyeon still is limited with her Eb5s. And beyond Luna, every other vocalist in P-G has a better mixed definitely.

I’m guessing that Haewon and Sullyoon will be sharing Lily’s parts considering JYP can be very conservative with line sharing (or it might be the usual case that they’ll just leave Lily’s pre-recorded vocals in and not have anyone cover it). Definitely not strain. At its worst, it sounds constricted but it's supported. Just not sustained as optimally.

@@francescasolarino6843 Yea like I said, because it wasn't sustained the best but all throughout her voice stayed relatively open and relaxed. She just didn't prepare enough before the note (she messed up the timing on live so tipped a bit)

Prob will join AA-P with lily if she becomes semi consistent with it? im not sure though

@@days3164 there's many vocalists in AA that r semi-consistent with resonating in their mid-range like G#4~A4 but still remains in the AA. unless the quality of her support around A4~B4 comparable with someone like Jamie and she starts getting consistent with C#5/D5 she'd be AA-P

@@byeonggon Resonating in their midrange? I don't really recall any of the AAs heavily focusing on their midrange, even less so resonanting G#4s. Solji focuses there but I wouldn't say it's resonant. If Haewon actually pulls off good enough round vowels up to C#5 (or even B4s depending), it's already better than the AAs in general. Raina doesn't exactly have round C5s either, she's just way more consistent below that compared to other AAs.

@@zekerh8936 sejeong? minkyung? prime yuju? and solji as the prime example but yeah I agree on the resonant part, I wouldn't call it resonant either but more to their mid-range carrying that fullness, round vowels. So r u saying if haewon pulls of good vowels up to C#5 she'd be AA-P or would she still remain AA but more higher parts?
