K Swapping My Honda Civic - Episode 2

Gears and Gasoline

4 жыл бұрын

I've decided to K swap my lovely little Honda Civic! The K24 engine is the king of Honda motors and it's swapped into almost everything because it's such a great motor! I'm putting a K24 from a TSX in the EK Hatch to replace it's current B16b. The B series was a great motor setup and I've had a lot of fun with it but it's time to move on to the Mighty K20 / K24! With a TSX K24 and K20 head, i'm shooting for the most amount of power possible out of a naturally aspirated, non built motor! We'll see what happens!
Special thanks to Ktuned for sponsoring this build!

I have a K20/K24 Frankenstein engine that I bought with a 06 SI and boy let me tell you! I love my baby! Had an issue with finding the water pump replacement as it’s a JDM so the American pieces weren’t fitting so I brought it to a Acura/Honda guy that builds race cars and he changed the housing to an American Accord and it works perfectly. Everyone who gets behind my car says it’s fun and fast though it’s not as fast as my racing team who have B engines and turbos. Getting a hatch by next summer and have my mechanic build it to 600hp for a night car

K series engines can make a bit more torque. Peak power is similar. K engines are a fraction of the price with a lot more support as they were offered in MANY other cars. We didn’t just swap K’s into S2000’s for fun. We did our homework.
@Hartbreak1
@Hartbreak1 4 жыл бұрын
andysmede that makes sense. I’ve seen some crazy S2000 engine builds so I was wondering what reason other than price was really at play there. If you can get better power out of a K with the same parts for cheaper then that really makes it the better option.

My jaw dropped when I saw Ronnie with the prepped K20Z3 head. I've been patiently working on my build and saving up to finally get to RS motors for a tune from a legendary tuner and owner. Seeing him help your build makes me incredibly jealous! I know you're definitely throwing in $$$ if 2 well-known time attackers are building your motor!

K24 bottom end with a Z3 head is brilliant. The Z3 head is an excellant casting and in my opinion when it comes to K series is absolutely the best head available. Our testing showed it even out fload the k20a2 head by a significant amount of cfm

Very very good video, man ^^ I really liked how both of you explained the same thing but at a different pace, with different shots. The Classical-style music and the engine freshly opened gave me goosebumps hahaha

I'm really impressed how much your channel have grown. I've subscribed to you, when you were under 50k subscribers. Now, you have over 600k, and it's well deserved. Keep on the good work!
