ഈ ആഴ്‌ച്ചയിലെ വീഡിയോയില്‍ എം. ആര്‍. ഹരി പരിചയപ്പെടുത്തുന്നത്‌ മിയാവാക്കി കാടിനായി അഞ്ചു സെന്റ്‌ നീക്കി വെച്ച കമ്പ്യൂട്ടര്‍ എഞ്ചിനിയറായ ഹരി കുമാറിനെയാണ്‌. മരങ്ങള്‍ പ്രദാനം ചെയ്യുന്ന തണലും ശുദ്ധവായുവും പച്ചിലച്ചാര്‍ത്തിന്റെ ഭംഗിയും കുട്ടികള്‍ക്ക്‌ കളിക്കാനുതകുന്ന വിത്തുകളും ഒക്കെയാണ്‌ ഹരി കുമാറിനെ വൃക്ഷ സ്‌നേഹിയാക്കിയത്‌.
In this episode, M. R. Hari introduces Mr Hari Kumar, a computer engineer, who is so enamoured of trees that he has a full five-cent plot set aside for growing a Miyawaki forest. Hari Kumar appreciates trees for the most unconventional reasons - for the shade they give, the cool pure air they maintain, the beautiful tender leaves they produce, and the seeds they produce for his children to play with.

Hari sir, ഈ പൊട്ടക്കാവളം എന്ന് നിങ്ങൾ പറഞ്ഞ മരം ഇവിടെ ഉണ്ട്. പൊട്ടിക്കായ് എന്നാണ് നമ്മൾ വിളിക്കാറ്(കണ്ണൂർ). അതിന്റെ കുരുവിന്റെ കറുത്ത തോട് പൊളിച്ചു കഴിക്കാറുണ്ട്. നല്ല രുചിയാണ്.പണ്ട് ഇവിടെ അത് എമ്പാടുമുണ്ടായിരുന്നെന്നും അത് കഴിച്ചാണ് പലപ്പോഴും വിശപ്പടക്കിയിരുന്നതെന്നും പ്രായമുള്ളവരിൽ നിന്നും കേട്ടിട്ടുണ്ട്.

യാദൃശ്ചികമായാണ് ഇത് കണ്ടത്, ഒരുപാട് ഇഷ്ടമായി. വേപ്പിന് വെള്ളം കുറഞ്ഞ പശപ്പുള്ള മണ്ണാണ് വേണ്ടത് എന്ന് തോന്നുന്നു. ഡൽഹിയിൽ ഒരുപാട് ഉണ്ട്

There are about 100 varieties of bamboo and I am not much aware in detail about them. It is better to seek advice of a botanist who has specialised knowledge on them.It is known that Odal, a type of bamboo is good to be planted on river/lake banks to control soil erosion
