Thanks Patrick, I appreciate you watching. Yes the pits have to be out, or it will not live. I would have liked to put some new stainless valves. The engine is really low miles. The seat concentricity was horrible. Made that way, IMO! Have a good week.

I think the main difference between the Acura and Honda K24 is that the Acura has VVT on the intake and exhaust cams and the Honda only has it on the intake cam. If I had to make a living fixing K24 engines from 03-up I’d starve to death. Without a doubt the best all around 4- cylinder ever put into a Japanese car.

Hey Prevost, thanks for watching. I believe you are correct on the VVT. I was sure disappointed in the factory valve job. The seat concentricity was terrible. These engines can run for sure.

They breathe pretty good in stock form and have huge potential for making power. They’re like the LS engine in the four cylinder world. I still love the sound of an American V-8 but there’s something to be said for getting 600hp out of a four cylinder engine that is relatively reliable.

Thanks for putting the information out. I have an IDL seat and guide machine and a bunch of stones and carbide cutters that I’m learning on. I find it’s all the details that can really help doing a good job.

You started to say why you opted to use a stone rather than machine …..can you tell me why? Thanks for a great explanation of the pitting

Thanks Russell, I appreciate you watching. Sometimes with the cutter it cut a little more than you can cleanup with a stone. And I do not have a 5.5mm carbide pilot. But after I got into it. Probably should have tried it. It has a good 3 angle valve job now.

@@edsmachine93I’m interested in hearing your opinion on this. I’ve seen it on some Toyota exhaust seats at high mileages . The engines still ran well with it but it sure looked bad.

​@@prevost8686I have seen that also. I think the carbon gets into the pits and somehow seals. Not very efficient, but does not miss. But the valve efficiency suffers I think anyway. The gasses probably help sealing.
