I agree with everyone saying Xur needs a big discount, considering before we could just buy his stuff so easily, unless coins are guaranteed from public events this is just another rare currency. 140 for a catalyst is robbery man. Maybe Bungie thinks we’ll amass a lot of coins, but let us get them first, worry about the hoarding after 🙄

Clarifications from the video I've noticed: - The Days Before ghosts quests are only one-time completions, with set rewards for specific quests, always cycling to the next specific set of quests, which always finishes with a single quest left that gives a deepsight harmonizer. - If you get the Strange Favor, it also resets the duration of the buff back to 11 says, in addition to stacking (up to max of 3). This was confirmed in the 06/13 TWID. - According to the description of the Strange favor, it only gives a chance of an additional coin per stack, so it is not a guaranteed coin, just a chance. Probably 50/50 is my guess.

I don't like the Currency change. I had plenty of Shards and Glimmer to just buy whatever I wanted from Xur. Now I have to grind for Currency that doesn't drop from everywhere with a low quantity per drop. I'm happy Xur offers more stuff, but I don't wanna grind for Strange Coins.

I've read that the Xur favor buff is kinda bugged. You get the buff only on one character so you need to choose on which character you are going to farm the coins...

The best way to actually farm coins easily and quickly is by launching the devils lair strike. You get 4 coins per run, which takes around 6-8 minutes.

I tried NightFalls, onslaught, Crucible, normal Strikes and even Dares this past week. Gambit was the only place to give me ANY amount of strange coins consistently.

Everybody keep in mind at the way ranking system works is you have to buy things so like for one of the tears you have to buy 11 things from them to level up well the strange gifts count for one so you spend one coin towards those 17 you’re only spending 17 whereas you may try to let you know focus it into the armor and spend more coins if you’re trying to get the rewards from his rank up then buying the strange gifts that cost one coin or actually extremely lucrative and very good.

Onslaught gives you progressively more per 10 waves. It starts out usually around 2-3 at wave 10, but usually ends up being 4-5 for waves 30, 40, and 50. I usually get 20-30 per onslaught run on normal.

You can also do this week's Nightfall, its pretty easy even on Master. With 2 people we were doing almost 15 minute runs and getting 10 Strange Coins a run. Obviously with the 99 cap though it's pretty overkill, cap should be higher or at least have Xur just be perma.

oh ya btw the buff only works with the character that you buy it on I was on my hunter (i mainly play warlock) just to see what he had and now I have to use my hunter to get any use out of the buff.

I'm not sure if that was a bug or if it was one time only, but when I did the FS campaign and I had to do the strike as campaign mission I got 17 Strange Coins from this one strike. I have not yet done that strike again so I'm not sure if that was because of it being part of the campaign or what that was. I had not done anything else that gives coins except that one strikes.

Best method i currently use is, constantly run the devils lair, with a decent team you can get through it on average in 7 minutes i have 2 of the favour of the nine buffs on so its 4 coins from the strike then another 2 from the buffs i can get almost a coin a minute with this method 😊

If you can only hold 99 strange coins the buff is pointless. While finishing my cipher quest I maxed out my inventory on strange coins, and still had several strikes left to complete.

Actually, there's a better, faster, and completely free alternative. Go farm devils pair strikes. It can be done (not even speed running it) in less than 10 minutes (my average is 7 minutes, and my personal fastest was 6;43) and provides 4 strange coins each run.

There's no need. When you buy a new one, it actually refreshes the timer on the first one. It only ends if you don't refresh it each week

I take the pvp L all the time i farmed 99 strange coins in the 2 v 2 clash i just turned my brain off and chat and lost straight for several hours and got 99 i don't play meta in pvp i play what i like and it 90% of the time gets me killed. Out of all those matches 70% of them my team left leaving me solo which i get farmed but 2 v 2 is fast and takes little effort for me. I didn't mind getting farmed cause pvp is lowest priority for me i rather gambit over crucible.

For someone like me who does not play that much, spending 45 strange coins on a buff to give you 1 extra strange coin makes absolutely no sense. Save your strange coins. I don't care that they stack, thats 90 strange coins that go to basically nothing.
