Really enjoyed y'all having Nick on! It seems like lots of folks think he talks over too much and maybe so but I appreciate all of the energy of the back and forth and his unique perspectives. To that end, Bekah and Jess have also commented on their talking over each other and deciding to keep doing it, and this is part of what I love about the podcast; it's like I'm in a room with friends who are high energy and passionately discussing the topic at hand. Plus this episode was hugely about Nick so his perspective is the main objective of bringing him on the podcast. But you both podcast with him so it is for you to decide if he bugs you too much. :) Considering this is your fourth (at least that I can recall) podcast together, I am guessing you enjoy podcasting together well enough! As a sidenote, Nick listed "Baby Bekah" as one of his BN friends last night on his live. :)

I’m really curious why The Bachelor couldn’t just go back to Mike Johnson. We already know him and a lot of people liked him. I just wish we could know what happened with Mike.

They interview Mike on the Almost Famous Podcast with Ben and Ashlee and he said that the producers didn't ask him 😭. I think that the producers manipulate situations and Mike on BIP he didn't want to be part of the drama and that is a reason why we didn't see him a lot on the show, he also said when they pick Peter that he said to the producers that he wanted a diverse cast ( this part said it on Bachelor Happy Hour podcast). Maybe is the best for Mike he deserves better.

Side note: definitely go back and watch Chris Soules' season - my favorite Bachelor season of all time. Surprisingly, Chris Soules is a funny guy, and the girls on this season were highly entertaining, and where we got our beloved Ashley I.

Britt struggled with an eating disorder while on the bachelor. I can only imagine what that season of the bachelorette did to her self esteem. That’s definitely why she wasn’t interviewed. I’m sure she doesn’t want to relive it.

Judging from the previews, they're going to do the first Bachelor and Bachlorette seasons, Ali and Juan Pablo too. And there was a season that started out with two guys as Bachelors and the women voted one to be the final one (Byron Velvick).

Obviously we know she and Shawn didn’t work out but why the heck was the proposal with Shawn cut out? I didn’t mind the way ABC structured the recap in a different way, but it is so weird how the ending of the recap was handled.

I think they did it that way out of respect for Kaitlyn. I also think they probably asked Shawn but he turned it down. He's really distanced himself from the franchise.

Ugh whenever Becca or Jess makes a point or brings up information that Nick isn’t privy to, he either sits in silence, looks away, or shrugs and says he doesn’t know much about that- he never says “oh wow, that’s an interesting point” or laughs at their joke, or says or “huh fascinating” or “smart perspective, never thought of it that way”. Self absorbed. Cold human.

by the way, they did do a season with two bachelors in season 6, back in 2004. Have we already forgotten not only Byron Velvick but also the ill-fated Jay Overbye? Byron found love (for a while, anyway) with Mary Delgado, but real estate broker Jay got dumped on the first night when the ladies chose to continue dating pro fisherman Byron. It was a close one, though, and Jay lost by just one vote.

That is a season I remember well and I Thought the ending was very romantic. Also, Mary came on that season after being on the bachelor season prior (Bob’s) which a lot of people forget also happened in the distant past...

I believe Ben H. attempted to run for a seat in congress back in 2016. He was going to be representing Colorado as a Republican (shocking, lol). He was still with Lauren B, and ended up pulling out of of it but I'm not sure why.

A thought popped into my head the second I found out that Matt was the bachelor. Maybe, production knows that Claire was going to send Matt home, possibly night one, OR maybe, she asked them not to have him on her season, due to the whole on line situation. And sense production was already making plans to make him the first black bachelor, (if Claire didn't choose him at the end) so instead, they decided to go ahead and give him his own season now, because that was already the plan anyway. Maybe...🤷‍♀️

I’m assuming it has something to do with licensing with Tubi for Rachel’s season. Rachel has also done promotion for her season being on Tubi in interviews. They also skip over her season on HBO Max (it goes 11, 12 then 14), so I’m guessing they have some sort of exclusive. I’m assuming Emily’s is licensing with Roku.

There's no way they're doing the most recent 10 seasons or going in order though. If they were then after Sean would have been Desiree whose they aren't doing (idk why) and then would have been Juan Pablo, Andi, Chris, THEN Kaitlyn. I also heard they are doing Trista's so we'll see!

The difference between Jess and Bekah is Jess's commentary is honest but not savage. Jess will be like "I'm gonna give you my opinion but I might actually have to see these people in the future". Bekah is like "I don't give a fuck, yeah I called you irrelevant what you gonna do?"....50:38 you could tell Nick had his guard up like "I have to tread carefully cause she might roast me".

There’s another youtuber that said producers keep saying they “have a reason” for not picking mike... WHAT IS THE REASON! i will not be invested in matt’s season for that reason. I wanted mike as bachelor! He kept it real on hannah’s season and Id love to see him keep it real on his own! Honestly upset!

@@ThePinkHanger Honestly, who cares what the "reason" is. I think Matt will be a much better bachelor than Mike. Mike was nonexistent on BIP. Mike was too cocky and just rude, on Hannah's season. And honestly, maybe Mike wasn't single long enough to have the opportunity - He seemed to like his "sudden rise to fame" in my opinion.

Nick is so frustrating to listen to! He engages in conversation as though the participation of others is a mere obstacle in the way of him speaking. To state the obvious, he talks over others *constantly* and *unabashedly*, but he also doesn't seem to acknowledge what they say, and instead continues on with his train of thought. When he does make it clear he has heard what has been said, he hedges and his tone is condescending. Yes, its great that he (lately) is a vocal supporter of the Black Lives Matter movement, but I see that as the bare minimum so I'm not going to praise him for doing the right thing as a white man with a considerable platform. Just want to get that out of the way because I know a lot of people are new Nick Stans because he took a stance against Garrett.

I listened to the podcast earlier today and I was feeling frustrated at how often people were interrupted and not acknowledged during this podcast. Anyone who's had this done to them in a conversation knows how minimizing and invalidating it feels. With that being said I love Nick and last night's episode was amazing! I'm loving GOAT

I completely agree. I found it has always been hard for me to listen to him. He doesn't listen to other people, he listens simply to respond and he constantly talks about himself. He barely says anything when Bekah or Jess ask him about other people. I've always gotten this arrogant, self-centered vibe from him. Also in this podcast, it's almost like he plays dumb when answering some questions. Idk. I couldn't finish the podcast.

@@KaylaPatrickmusic All of his purported positive qualities are forgotten when I see how he converses with, and ergo treats, others. He did the same thing on Juliette's podcast (Bachelor Party), and he does the same thing on his own podcast. It ruins the listening experience. If he doesn't care about appearing to value what his guests/hosts have to say, then perhaps he would be persuaded by the fact that it literally drives people away from his content.

Agreed he takes himself a little too seriously. I think he's probably a good guy (whatever that means), but I feel like I could never hang out with him. Like, he doesn't laugh

I am a fan of the podcast and this was another great episode but close to the end with the Garett thing it started feeling more like the group of the “cool kids” that “got everything right” making fun of and laughing at the “losers”. The attitude is becoming a little bit “look at us how much better than everyone we are”...not saying it is not true but it reads a little bit as showing off...

Nick is a poor listener. He doesn’t respond to Jess or B’s comments. Why? Because he doesn’t care. He’s very condescending and self righteous. Watch it back. Listen to how Nick talks over them. Maybe Nick needs to watch and listen to Jay Shetty. Jay is a classy respectful host of his own podcast and Jay is a classy respectful guest on other people’s podcast. Dude listening to this was hard but actually watching it is painful. If this is how he treats people with a platform, imagine how he would treat someone out in public. This is heartbreaking to watch and kind of opens my eyes to how he is

thank you. his behavior is downright disrespectful. the thing is, i don't think he is aware OR will change. he just doesn't care about what other people have to say. it disgusts me to see bekah & jess treated that way.

I don't see him changing either, with people that converse like Nick it's like they have this ingrained belief that what they have to say is more important than what everyone else has to say. It's hard to hear Jess get interrupted every ep but this one was really really hard. It sucks because she's always such an active listener and I feel like she gets talked over a lot

@@xowdavis I thought the SAME thing as I was listening! Dude you nailed it on the head, I was feeling that he wasn't giving Jess the same respect because of that. Such bull though, Jess is one of the most engaging conversationalists, it's almost a cosmic joke at this point that she gets talked over so much seeing as how she has the most insightful takes out of anyone

Bekah Martinez: you called out Garrett publicly so he called you out publicly... if he is an asshole for doing that then so are you... get over the Garrett thing. You can’t police peoples thoughts. Your (not just yours specifically) bullying someone into submitting to your point of view doesn’t appeal to people like him and it doesn’t help the cause.
