Ever thought about building Lever Arms that attach and detach easily using a 5/8" pin and the hitch pins? That way we can put up and take down easily and those of us with cable systems on rack can also use lever arms! I see Gorilla Jammer Arms does this and saw another company that sells adapters to make any jammers do this.

1. Is there a way in your mind to be able to switch between fixed arm path and free arm path 2. Isn't the freely rotating arm path on these a lot like using free weights as opposed to a machine?
@KaizenDIYGym
@KaizenDIYGym 2 жыл бұрын
There should be a way to make these lock into a fixed plane. I’ve been considering it for a while but haven’t had the time to test anything out. The movement is not quite like free weights but definitely more so than using a machine. I’d say it’s a hybrid.
@thndastruk

@@KaizenDIYGym when you figure out the fixed path mod, inquiring minds would love to know!! I wonder if you found a way to mount them vertically it might be easier to find a mod to fix the caster in place to only spin forward and back - would make it a bit more similar to Phenox Fitness model

I don't have side holes, Can I attach it to the front by using non-swivel casters instead? It would only operate in a single plane of motion.
@KaizenDIYGym
@KaizenDIYGym 2 жыл бұрын
You have some options. You could drill holes into the sides. This can be done with a corded or cordless drill and drill bit. If you don’t want to do that, you can use non-swivel casters but that will restrict movement to a single plane of motion. Swivel casters mounted to the front will work for everything but overhead movements.
@JeremyThielman
@JeremyThielman 2 жыл бұрын
Pretty easy with pillow blocks at least 5/8 steel rod thru the blocks and the wood. Still use a 2x6 against frame but probably need to push pillow blocks out a few inches for clearance of the 4x4. So use the 2x6 to cut off 2 blocks 2” for the pillow bocks to rest on. Use 3 or 3.5 in construction screws to attach blocks to main 2x6 (3 each side with pilot holes, but watch where you have to bore holes for the pillow bocks. The 5/8 steel bar and pillow blocks can be found on amazon. I’d use an angle grinder to cut bar to proper length. Those are cheap enough. Or Titan has the brackets for ~$100 and you can bore some 5/8 hoes in your rack with a drill and metal step bit.

Hello kaizen gym. Ive been inspired in my own home gym, by some of your ideas, and thank you for both willingness and contribution. I have a request for a diy project. Theres a workout piece of equipment made for rotational exercises, that are hard to i itate with just handles and a cable machine, since to much force is lost if the arms are stretched like with a cable, and not everyone can afford nor have space to a fitness machine like the torso rotater machine. So a company called pure torque made this piece of equipment called the : puretorque ab trainer. Prrhaps you would find it relevant put it into a diy project. Thanks ✌️

I'm surprised with some of the negative reviews. I was so impressed with the kzfaq.infoUgkxMwYg0MOXR4M-oGeyBsNSYe1aPOUoRH6D cage that I got the lat pulldown attachment that goes with it. It is equally outstanding. I don't have one complaint other than putting it together is a job. The instructions and packaging of the parts are very well designed and organized. Also, I stripped and damaged the pull down cable the first day, admitting it was my stupid fault, and they quickly replaced it at no charge. I'm 6'5, 280lbs and fit in the cage just fine. Glenn B
