Kalki 2898-A.D is an upcoming Indian epic science fiction film written and directed by Nag Ashwin. It is produced by C. Aswani Dutt under Vyjayanthi Movies. The film stars an ensemble cast including Prabhas, Amitabh Bachchan, Kamal Haasan, Deepika Padukone, Disha Patani and Pasupathy.

@@kingphoenix1905 Except they actually say Muslim mythology, Christian Mythology, etc. Mythology basically addresses a people's origin, history, deities, ancestors, and heroes, but are not found to be actually recorded in history. I am sorry but unless we get some new evidence stating that this is in fact history, it remains a mythology, which is not a bad thing. Just like every religion and mythology in the world.

@@kingphoenix1905 that is a modern interpretation of the word, to be accurate its a vernacular form. The original meaning is stories passed from culture, for which historians couldn't account events to... since most mythologies couldn't be tracked down to reality the vernacular meaning of the word myth became false belief. And no one is targeting hinduism alone to call it a mythology, there's everything from Greek mythology, Roman Mythology, Christian Mythology etc... These events from the Bible (Old Testament) or Mahabarata or Quran or Oddessy are not found within recorded history as much as those who believe in those books want to...

An interesting premise about Ashwatthama(played by Amitab Bacchan) , In the trailer there is a shot where a light arrow strikes the womb of a woman that lighting is called bramhastra used by aswhattama during the epic battle Kururkshetra(The greatest war in Indian Mythology ) and for that he carries a curse to till date, Now he was trying to save the baby in the womb , which can be classified as his redemption.

Amitabh Bachchan is on the good side and he is trying to save kalki and sumati, whereas Prabhas is trying to capture them for one million units so that he can go to the complex which has been shown in the previous trailer.

This is Based off of 2 huge indian scriptures and history (Mahabarata + Kalki purana) in which it says that in near future the worlds gonna be the most sinful place in which people forget gods etc.. And evil prevails.. To stop this lord vishnu incarnates as worlds messiah named "Kalki".. To end the "Kali demon"..there are 3 supreme gods in hinduism who are all powerful namely (Brahma, Vishnu, Shiva)Lord vishnu has taken several avatars or incarnations as many beings to save earth and other worldly planets.. This would be his last one to save our world along with astral realms etc! Ashwattama(guy with the stone in head) is a an half avatar of lord shiva who was cursed by lord krishna (yet another avatat of vishnu) in mahabarata wars.. To justify his lord.. He along with 7 other immortals two among them being other holy avatars like hanuman(lord shiva's avatar)& Parashuram (another avatar of lord vishnu) and few other great immortals termed chiranjeevis ..comes to put an end to everything which is bad and of unjustice.. The trailer has the music playin in which they calls for lord vishnu or krishna as madhava (another name of the lord) to descend upon earth to save the holyland❤ hope this helps

Great trailer review! The person with stone is Ashwatthama (Amitabh Bachchan), a warrior who was cursed to stay alive until the end of Kali Yuga(current age and the darkest in the cycle of epochs), almost 5000 years back, by Krishna (Avatar of Vishnu) Also, Kalki is the prophesied 10th avatar of Lord Vishnu( the Almighty God of Hinduism, another name-Madhava in the song) who is supposed take birth at end of this Kali Yuga and put an end to the darkness and reset the cycle of life with a new epoch of righteousness. Fun fact, Kali Yuga is supposed to last for 432,000 years. But the movie makes it to only about 6000 years. 432000 years is too much of a creative stress I guess, who knows what our world would evolve into by then.

Panchang has a different way of calculating a "year" from the gregorian calendar (which is an extremely problematic calender tbh and should be replaced), but I don't think the amount of time within a year (to an approximate degree) is any different from the gregorian calender. There might be a couple of seconds difference here and there (which in the long term is problematic, but not in the short term)
