Today we are going to revisit Kamigawa Neon Dynasty with the first Set box opening I've done of this product in over a year!
While Kamigawa Neon Dynasty was a bit of a surprise at the time there's no doubt that this set is now viewed as one of the better Standard sets in the last few years. Likewise, there are plenty of singles within it that have continued to age nicely.

Absolutely. In a world where full art lands are now standard for every new set, it says a lot that these are still $2-$3 for non-foil basics…

This set has my second favourite art (behind Amonkhet - love the egyptian vibe of that one!). Kinda hope we end up visiting those two again before too much longer.

They really nailed Kamigawa with the combination of art, style, and colors… such a good mesh with those neon colors.

Nice video and some solid pulls! I stumbled across your channel today. Kamigawa Neon Dynasty is easily my favorite set in the last few years. Wish I had had a chance to draft it more! I'm actually thinking of putting together a set cube!

First and foremost, welcome! Glad you stumbled across my channel and enjoyed the video. They really nailed it with Kamigawa. A very well engineered set that checks a lot of boxes for playability, theme, art, color usage, etc. Keep me posted if you decide to cube it. Sounds interesting!

If there is one set over the last four years I just didn't pay much attention to or learn much about it's K:ND. Which I know puts me in the extreme minority. However, I gotta say listening here to some of the value cards, I was super lucky with my lone Bundle of the product. Fun opening, and I'm glad ya got some cards you were hoping to get, however I'm pretty sure the entire Boseiju forest was cut down by PoA some time ago....

POA owns the forests. That is true. What I really appreciate about Kamigawa was that it was an unexpected surprise. Coming off both Innistrad sets the expectations for it were pretty low and then it turned out to be one of the best Standard sets in years. (In my opinion)

1000% Kamigawa was such an unexpected surprise. When they released the list of sets for the year Kamigawa was not on the top of everyone’s list. It turned out to be an incredible set.

Colossal Skyturtle only has value as a foil. Otherwise the non-foil is cheap

Other cards that receive a multiplier if you pull a foil: Secluded Courtyard Spirited Companion Tamiyo’s Safekeeping Jukai Naturalist Also, almost any rare in the showcase gets a multiplier in foil, notable examples are Tameshi, Greasefang, Thundering Raiju, Satsuki, Hinata etc.

If you had pulled the foil showcase Invoke Despair it still has some value…it’s still really good in Commander

Good call on the turtle. Patchwork Automaton, Enthusiastic Mechanaut, and Containment Construct also have good foil multipliers.
