5 жыл бұрын

I know it's a pretty long title. The word kamikazetokubetsukōgekitai means Kamikaze Special Attack Corps, although the official name of the unit was Tokubetsu Kōgekitai (Special Attack Unit) kamikazetokubetsukōgekitai (meaning divine wind Attack Corps) was the popular name which it was known with.
The person in the picture is Ensign Kiyoshi Ogawa, who flew his aircraft into USS Bunker Hill during a kamikaze mission on 11 May 1945
Due to a request I will post the kanji and romanji lyrics
Lyrics: (Romanji)

Lyrics: (Kanji)

I'm American myself and hate all the people around me saying that America is best without even know the atrocities we have committed. @@Afrancis16 one hypercritical question... when America gets hit by a nuke.. what would you say? because America also never got any punishment for committing a genocide on the Indigenous population that used to own the land. I know thats probably not the best example but my point is, no matter if u conquered the land and or u did bad things.. that fact alone doesn't give u the right to nuke a country twice.. especially if u not even trying to destroy military structures but instead target the most populated citys by civilians. U can turn it the way u like but America simply wanted a "test subject" for their new weapon..

god why do some people respect this regime, it was literally on par with the nazis. They killed millions of chinese civilians for no apparent reason, but because the U.S. glorified it after the war, everybody thinks Japan has always been a peaceful country

Why do you think people think that? Only because that's what Japan's been becoming since the end of the war. Every day, Japanese step further away from the spirit from which these displays of valorant character were born. That's the meaning of all these Japanese nationalists, people outraged at the stupefication of their folk, forgetting what self-denial, selflessness, and sacrifice made such a great nation. Now Japan is rotting and decaying like any other Westen nation and sinking slowly into immorality. Well, I prefer not to think on such doomsday terms, but undoubtedly that's where I see Japan's future, at least as of now.

I have a distant relative who was stationed in Pearl Harbor but was fortunate enough to survive the attack. When I was a teenager, I was privileged to hear a lecture by a kamikaze pilot who miraculously survived. He spoke at length, albeit in a very thick accent, about the measures they took to brainwash him into that willingness to throw away his life. It wasn't filmed and KZfaq didn't exist. Thank you for preserving this bit of wartime propaganda. It's so easy to forget that the suicide pilots weren't born to be weapons, they were just made that way.

Dear Mother and Father, Brother and Sister, End of autumn. The backyard must be filled with the cries of insects, as it is every year around this time. My heart is full to bursting with memories of the many evenings we spent talking together. I suppose you are all somewhat concerned about how I’m doing. During my visit home in May, Sister said to me, “Ever since you joined up, Mother has been setting meals before your photograph. She’s given up drinking tea, and every evening she visits the shrine to pray for you.” I was so moved that I was unable to thank her. Mother really wore herself out at the farewell party the night before I left to join my unit. She was so busy preparing for my departure that she didn’t sleep at all the night before. And on my sun flag, she wrote HAPPILY WAITING FOR A RETURNING CHILD. Whenever I can, I gaze at those four noble characters for the nourishment they give my soul. The fighting has become extremely intense, and there is no guarantee of my safe return. The image of all those poor school kids and everyone else singing war songs and waving a sea of flags as they saw us off to the front is burned indelibly into my mind. I firmly believe in the benevolence of the Emperor and of our parents. Mother seems to be growing weaker by the day. Brother and Sister, you will have to give her the love that I cannot. Please forgive my impiety; I pray for the continued good health of you all. The three photo albums I sent the other day are keepsakes for Brother and Sister. Please don’t worry about me. When you hear of my death, be happy for me, for I will have achieved my ambition. Goodbye Lieutenant Kishi Fumikazu to his family Killed in the Philippines on 24 October 1944 at age 22.
