No. In the Japanese philosophy, the cherry tree is the symbol of the Buddhist concept of anitya that is to say "impermanence". In other words, even if cherry blossom is beautiful, you shouldn't attach to its beauty because it doesn't last, just like your own person, the people you love, your country, or even the God themselves.

Read or heard somewhere about an American veteran. He was a radio operator and would intercept/over hear Kamikaze pilots final words before crashing into ships. @Eros Matthew Montallana That’s not true. The young Japanese men in this war were told it was a divine war, and the best way to die was in battle, the most dishonorable being surrendering. They were brainwashed into doing what they were instructed to do. Some of them didn’t do it, they executed them publicly. That really made them wanna do it.

Geez this song is so depressing. It represents the pinnacle of fanaticism the within the Japanese government in fighting a lost war. They were losing in the Pacific, Burma, deadlocked in China and their end was nigh yet they still sent thousands of pilots to die for their hopeless cause, many of whom could have helped Japan recover post-WW2 if they had survived. My condolences to the Japanese children and wives who had to lose their fathers and husbands.

If we think now: the most of kamikaze were volunteers, volunteer to serve the army is always somebody with good mentality, and not a bad person... everybody who died there.., we must consent them.. because those persons had their own life... maybe, maybe instead being kamikaze they could be scientifics, poets, artists..... But they died... At more they died for the ideology that was not the best, and their country lost anyway.., so its very sad

"At more they died for the ideology that was not the best, and their country lost anyway" This wasn't really the reason a lot of men did such an act, They died in service of their Emperor who was established as a God in the Shinto belief and such they believed their death would help in a way of protecting their families and Emperor in a final stand to inflict as many losses as possible upon the enemy to prevent them from making it to the Home islands. There are cases where such attacks proved effective such as the Kamikaze attack on USS Bunker Hill where 393 sailors and airmen were killed and 264 wounded, this was all dealt by two A6M5 Zero pilots; meanwhile the Ship was heavily damaged as a result/
