2:00 that is a historical misconception that the Egyptian workers who made the pyramids were treated as slaves the opposite was kinda true as in they were treated as respected members of society, had good wages and some were even buried next to the pyramids Edit: turns out both slaves and respected architects worked on that pyramids thanks aishah for pointing it out
@aishah4286

Reverse Tape According to most Egyptian scholars both are true. There were many respected and professional architects, craftsman, and artists that worked on the pyramid and considered it a great honor. There was also slave labor as was typical of the empire in those days. Slave labor was mainly used to mix concrete, form bricks, maneuver supplies, and distribute loads.

Raxador not a com/soc but I think the idea is that those type of systems are intended to be more developed than capitalism... therefor working better the more developed our world becomes. Especially given the huge leap we have taken technologically in the last 50 years, it would be interesting to see how they would work in today’s world. *NOT DEFENDING PAST FAILURES* but think about how hard it must have been to run a system like that with no computers, internet, etc. my guess is today we would see much more success if these systems are given a chance. My theory is not one better than the other, just different dependent on culture, access to resources, demographics, etc. we need to stop thinking of systems and countries so simply. How is it "greed" if you want to keep what you earned, but not "greed" to want what someone else earned?
@bph_119
@bph_119 2 жыл бұрын
Well that’s the point. According the Marx, the wealth accumulated by capitalists is inherently not “earned,” it’s accumulated by paying the value of the individual workers’ labor at one price and then selling it for a much higher price (profit). In the minds of capitalists, this profit is a “reward” for hard work and innovation (basically what you were alluding to), while Marxists see profits as the capitalists stealing the value of the labor provided by workers-exploitation. That’s where the disconnect comes in.

@@chrismetcalfe5122 It's an entirely hypothetical cost, how do you know that $10 doesn't cover it? Considering Jeff Bezos's bank account it can sometimes be a lot less that 10%. I think it is interesting when people attack billionaires like Bezos as an example of injustice. He came from the lower class (economically) and educated himself, then left a great paying job to risk everything to start Amazon. 99% of the population is too scared to take those types of chances in life. Bezos should be a mentor to people rather than a villain. His is a story of success. By all means, go and do something similar and maybe you will reap the benefits. Also, be ready to fall on your face because that is more likely to happen. Life is a challenge and when you fail, you should learn from it and keep moving forward.

No one is making the point that the lower class can not become rich, the point that would best counter your claim is that there is absolutely no way to become rich in a capitalist society without exploiting others and profiting off of their labor. Also, the likes of you or anyone, especially from the lower class, becoming rich is very low and you must sell your soul to exploiting others in order to do so. Communism is all about community, your income, as well as everyone else’s will go into making a better community. It will make sure everyone is fed, educated and will allow for the creativity of many to flourish since most creatives in a capitalist society don’t have the means to explore/present their creativity. I hope I explained this to you well enough, if you have any questions let me know❤️

@@tpdircks That's pure bs. Businesses do more than just take a risk and then get profits. They try to maximize short term profits to the detriment of the world like the oil industry and they rig the game like with lobbying and they socialize the losses while maximizing gains like with subsidies. There is no written rule that businesses have to be shitty greedy fucks. And the notion that there would be no work without businesses is ridiculous. Governments employ billions around the world. Governments are not businesses. Plus socially responsible businesses that work for sustainability rather than short term profits and that work for the workers, the investors and society in general are possible. They just need to be regulated by a strong moral government that's for the people, by the people and from the people. And workers can have shares in companies and have a say in decision making. Plus the government owning all public utilities like electricity, water, healthcare, education, the internet, etc. That's why social democracies are the top most countries in the world right now. Personally I have no opinion on them, as I am apolitical. But I personally believe that they did not *intend* to cause harm via communism, they actually meant to help. And 1800s capitalism was basically unregulated (look at gilded age USA) and far more brutal and cruel than modern day capitalism. Modern capitalists see their workers as less slaves and more as actual human beings, and they don’t do child labor/ not paying decent wages or wages at all (in some gilded age cases, mostly against children and women. The child labor in gilded age USA was truly horrific.) I wonder if, had old capitalism been far less brutal, would they have written the communist manifesto? I do believe hat they were trying to help, and simply misguided, but I don’t know though.

Profits being exploitation of the working class is a joke. Its the profits that allows owners to buy tools, build workshops, pay the light bill and reward themselves with a wage and also investors a wage. Without the incentive to make a profit? Nothing happens. Why would you go through the risk and headache of opening a business if you would never make a profit? Workers who save their money can also choose to invest in businesses. Where the train leaves the tracks with capitalism is when government favors one business over another. Thats called crony capitalism.... Bail outs and regulations that favor you over the competition. Its almost as wrong as Communism..... almost. The more totalitarian the regime the more corrupt it becomes. A perfect world is a free market society where most everyone works for themselves. How hard you work and how smart you run your business determines how successful you are. No government bail outs if your not successful. The best and the brightest reap their just rewards while giving others inspiration and drive to work towards the same goal. Instead of a society like Communism in which there is no incentives...... the government owns everything. Your place of employment, your apartment flat, your car, your fridge, etc. Your only incentive is to NOT make the government angry and send you off to a slave labor camp in Siberia. Today Chinese citizens must win a government lottery in order to apply for a drivers license.... The life of a Wolf may scare a Dog who is chained to its masters porch. There are no guarantees out there in the wilderness....no master to scratch your tummy or put food in your bowl. But I say this with complete conviction that even a Wolf that only lives a short life? Truly lived! And the Chained Dog who lives to a ripe old age? Never truly lived! Resist the chain and collar that governments try to place around your neck! Live free or die!

Ah yes, those wonderful days of free market where your boss owned your living area and paid you under rent for the pleasure. Where workers went home physically scarred from their working day. Where (and I shit you not) it was less expensive to have women draw carriages instead of horse. When workers were chained inside their place of work having to jump to their death to avoid the fires since there was no place to go. Where business owners were just allowed to subjugate entire other countries for fruit. Where workers are viewed as little more than a resource that could be exposed of at any time. Not to mention that free market isn't even really free. Legacy capital exists. So when a company continues to eat companies around it then no other company really has a chance. We can see this now with walmarts consuming local mom and pops stores. So when you are unable to "invest into a business" where does that leave you? With the rest of us having to sell our labor or die. And "ord die" isn't a choice. It's an ultimatum.

Communists are worse than Nazi's. Marx and Engels were so wrong and paved the way for some of worst atrocities in human history. Marx was a racist too. They had no proper understanding of human behavior and how humans interact. Their teachings are anything but science. They expected all the poor people to rise up against the rich but that never happened. It's not happening now either. Capitalism has resulted in the level of global poverty dropping by over half in the last 20 years and starvation reducing similarly. Once communist China adopted Capital markets they brought millions out of poverty there. Proper Capitalism, even corrupt Capitalism, has been beneficial for the vast majority of humans.
