On board with driver Carlos Carneiro (Brazil), driving the Team Spencers TV & Appliance / Vintage Kart Company cyclekart in the inaugural Grand Prix of Scottsdale. The Grand Prix is run in 1920s style mini Grand Prix cars/karts (cyclekarts), on a temporary 1 mile long street circuit in Downtown "Old Town" Scottsdale, Arizona. The Grand Prix format was 1 race which was split into four 20 minute heats, with a 10 minute break in between each one. This was the first heat, which was the fastest and will probably be the fastest GPX race ever at the Scottsdale Waterfront street circuit. All cars were running unrestricted, with a top speed of 45 mph, but at the end of this heat there was a heavy crash and organizers were instructed by city and police officials to reduce the cars' speed significantly for the next 3 heats.
