Linda, Maria, Dolly, and Emmy Lou have a history of backing each other on their respective albums. So talented they would sing the back up vocals on their own albums. We won't see another group of talented singers like these again.

Great summation, Clayton. Although I was a teen in the 70's and had her greatest hits albums and belted "Geat Wave" with my friends on the way to Jones Beach, I did not do a deep dive into Ms. Ronstadt until I saw the documentary based on her musical memoir in 2019. "Girl just wanted to sing" says it all. Lucky for us, we got to hear her.

Saw Maria in a little club here in the San Juan Islands, she spoke of singing with Linda, I saw Linda here in Washington too, but I remember the early 70’s and seeing Linda, so close I could have reached out and touched her, Linda had a voice that no one can top, ever. I agree with Emmylou, Linda could sing anything, rock, country, opera, her Mexican music, everything sounds better with Linda! As my brother calls her, lovely Linda!

Got you beat. I've been in love with here since 1964, this first week she was in Santa Monica, just got in from Tucson, was at Bobby Kimmel's house, she was taking a bath when Larry White and I got there, then she magically appeared wearing a bath towel... memory's not what it used to be, but I think it was green. Visited her on occasion, went with Bobby and Kenny to the Troubadour a few times for Stone Poney performances. Got some good pictures of her when she did a radio interview and L.A. Pierce College, see "Wild About My Lovin'" by me. She was ALWAYS so nice and kind... yes, and she was beautiful inside and out.

I so like this. I loved Maria Muldaur in her hey-day. My late sister loved the McGarrigle sisters (she had all their LPs - how old-fashioned and analogue that sounds) and I listened on those Saturday nights in Herefordshire. For me, however, now, no-one beats Linda. No, she didn't write the words but she respects them and the writers and here that is so clear. She sings a "fine song (her words) like no-one else.

Yes. I loved the fact that Linda just always wanted ... To Sing! Large or intimate (which I think she preferred) venues. And that she loved to collaborate with her peers, of all genres. She elevated harmony to an art, in the ability to sing just above, or below her fellow singer(s). Linda is a Treasure 💜.

fpngan, Ms. Ronstadt would agree. In her memoir, she said that between the ages of 40-50 she had every vocal tool at her disposal. So on display here. And this song could be another memoir in a nutshell. In the recent interviews she has given as a result of the 2019 documentary, she seems content. Yes, she is battling to live as comfortable and productive a life as possible given the progression of her Parkinson's, but for many of us, the worst battles in this life are usually the internal ones, those related to self-identify and relationships. Ms. Ronstadt seems to have won those handily. Ms. Ronstadt's happy, secure, and love-filled childhood appears to have been a blueprint for the meaningful personal and professional life she led. At 62, this casual teen fan of Ms. Ronstsdt is enjoying a revelatory tour of her musical odyssey. Led me here-to this "bar in Rochester" packed one night with a group of talented, luminous ladies and an audience that knew and appreciated what they were witnessing.

I didn't discover her until the early 80s and then I introduced her to my brother and, like you, he has been in love ever since. I agree she is beautiful inside and out. She makes every song she sings better. To me that goes way beyond any spurious song-writing "talent" - sometimes it is just finding a few words that rhyme. What she did was recognise a good song and give it its due.

Yep, the little sisters had a big influence, quite understated in their way of doing things. Most of the Québec singers at the time were quite smitten of them, but then the sisters embraced the french culture as their own for the simple reason that it was part of what they were. Can one blame Linda and Emmylou for being also smitten. When Kate died Emmylou took the time and paid her respects in Montreal.......as for Linda .....well, time and fortune are not so forgiving, still she would have been there if she could have. As for Maria, really going to research her ''cheminement'' remember her as a great back up singer in the late sixties but seems like I am missing some things.
