Kate and Anna McGarrigle with Maria Muldaur: The Work Song (1984)

Maria Muldaur, along with Kate and Anna McGarrigle, performs Kate's "The Work Song" in a June 1984 TV concert recorded at the Red Creek Inn in Rochester NY.
In addition to Kate and Anna, the band for this concert includes Pat Donaldson (bass), Gordy Adamson (drums), Andrew Cowan (guitar), Gilles Losier (violin), Dane Lanken (bass voice), Chaim Tannenbaum (voice, harmonica, and other instruments), and Jane McGarrigle.

.......I too..... remember hearing and relate to the period music & songs from dated times .....in 1967

I saw Maria in a coffee house in Cambridge MA in the early 70'..Damn I'm old..but I have good taste

I think you need to look up the meaning of "cultural appropriation". That's not what's going on. There's a word that jumps out, even though context is given that some might miss on a perfunctory listening. Even you noticed it and commented on it because it's out of place. It's a pejorative that many find offensive and is an artifact of an ugly sentiment of a bygone time (though you seem to want to keep it alive). That being said, the song is out there for all to hear and no one's forming panels. I think you're missing the overall situation.
