" (Dance of Vampires). Originally written by Jim Steinman as "Total Eclipse of the heart" and performed by Bonnie Tyler.

@Cheryl Topaz They did a version of this show on Broadway. It was one of the biggest train wrecks ever produced. The composer (Jim Steinman) walked away from the show while they were adapting it for the US because the producers gutted the book like a fish, making Dance of the Vampires NOTHING like Tanz. There's a lot of tea from this production.

@Cheryl Topaz Sadly, it’s true. This musical is amazing as it is, they wanted to make it funnier I guess, but they ended up turning it into a really bad parody. :(

I saw it twice at 2001 Michael crawfort and Mandy gonzales...but i ll never even compare it with the austrian and german Produktions, Broadway was horrible

When they did it Denmark a few years ago, faithfully, it completely tanked :( I loved it though, but there was a few awkward parts.

I always love it when a musical, with music written for itself, includes a pre-written well known song, like how Beetlejuice has 'The Banana Boat Song' and 'Jump in the Line' from Harry Belafonte. Hearing 'Total Eclipse of the Heart' here is absolutely unexpected and freaking awesome and perfect! And hearing it in German is so cool. It's sounds amazing in German!

In German the song is not the words at all! 🤣 so you know the beginning you hear ‘turn around bright eyes.” In German it says “be careful’ eclipse of the heart is closer. Eclipse is in it? So we have that lol

Every song in this musical is a Jim Steinman song, so if you don't recognize the rest of them it just shows that you haven't listened enough on Meatloaf and others. They all have new lyrics, but the music is the same.

This song was originally written for an unproduced Nosferatu musical and later sold to Bonnie Tyler. So it's inclusion is very appropriate.

It just seems to be more emotional in German to me. The whole production seemed more emotional. ESPECIALLY the Endless Appetite song. I cried during the German one, the English one only seemed slightly sad.

I've seen the german version live 6 times in Vienna over the past years and the acting singing and stage setup is exactly like in this video every time..

War gestern in Stuttgart dabei, und muss sagen ich fand es einfach genial! hatte zuerst dieselbe angst wie cheezuXX, der ältere simba damals in hamburg bei könig der löwen hat irgendwie das gesamtbild der show etwas gestört, aber hier wars einfach wunderschön, würde gerne wieder kommen! 5*
