Pero real talk, we would always choose Regine over everyone else because we know her PLACE in the industry, which makes it unfair to other singers. I believe, as long as Regine is present to any song battle others will be having no chance against her. Can we start trying uplifting others?

Yes!! I happens everytime hehe. I know how good regine is but there are some performance that other artists stands out most. Regine is regine. We know how good she is. Maybe its time to uplift others just like what you said :)

It's already given that Regine is a vocal LEGEND. So there's no argument about that. But here we are in this public forum giving our opinions on comparison of these SPECIFIC performances. Some may have the tendency to solely give praises for their idol, but still some commenters are giving their most objective points. So let's NOT generalize that everyone here is purely biased. By the way, being compared to the Asia's Songbird is already a huge recognition for any singer.

For vocal calisthenics and sustaining high notes, I'll give props to Katrina. BUT for melodious tone, emotive singing, and supreme vocal power, I'll definitely go for Regine. And she even hit a higher note (A5) than Katrina's. So for the overall performance quality of this song - stage presence, belting mastery, soulfulness, and vocal prowess - it's still the ASIA'S SONGBIRD for me! ❤️

Both are fantastic, but my heart belongs to Regine for this song; she simply sang from her soul, conveying the proper emotions and delivering a balancing vocal acrobat not too much belting just the exact amount of everything.

Exactly. During her prime, no one could sing as ridiculous as Regine did. Nowadays, there are a lot singers who can do vocal acrobatics. It's a fact they are parroting Regine's style of singing but for a good reason. But one thing that separates Regine from the rest is her ability to tell a story and exude emotions through her renditions in a majestic way. And that's something really difficult to imitate.

Diko ma gets kung ano yung sinasabe ng iba dito sa comment na halos wala daw emotion yung kay kat! Actually yan video ni kat na yan di yan yung first attemp na kinanta nya yung song na yan! May sakit pa po si katrina that time na yan! We all known naman na regine is a living legend!! Pero para mapuna pa na kesyo wala daw emotion si kat whaaat???? Wala naman silang pag gagayahan ng Style kung wala si Regine. Dun pa lang alam mo na if sino yung Artist talaga. Syempre idol ni kat si Regine. Tsaka may something talaga sa boses ni Regine na wala sa ibang biritera. And bumibirit si Regine live kahit walang Ear piece pero hindi nawawala sa tono.

Thing is Katrina wouldn’t even know or thought of singing this song if not for Regine’s version. Most of the time, her live performances at this bar, are songs or versions of Regine. ( example, Linlangin Mo, Never Ever Say Goodbye and this song ) Don’t get me wrong, Katrina is amazing too, but Regine just hits differently. In all aspects, it’s Regine for me.

Regine still incomparable because of her very unique voice and feminine tone on the other hand katrina also a great singer with a very wide high range of voice however the quality of her voice doesn’t match regine’s voice .

vocal acrobatics is not really equal to emotions. we all felt that katrina did master her runs and riffs, but after all i think she forgot to understand the meaning of the song that might connect her emotion to her singing style.

First of all, they have different settings.. Katrina is singing in a gig and she breaks into character from time to time. Second, they have slightly different rendition with each other so of course the delivery and outcome will differ. But to say that she did not understand the song, that's absurd! Both queen delivered! Period.
