I LOVE me some KAty Perry and this made my heart hurt so bad when Carol Burnett sang too. I am not ready to say so long yet! We are not ready to say so long yet!

Loved the tribute from all of the people that love Carol Burnett ! I grew up watching Carol on a old black & white TV with my Grandma ! This song by Katy Perry was amazing & letting Carol do the last line epic !! Both legends !!

Carol Burnett has a wonderful voice. Listening to her one would never guess her age. Perry was very brave to sing without music.

I am completely and hopelessly in love with Carol Burnett and have been since I was 10 years old (1973). Carol stopped at NOTHING to make us all laugh. And for that, I simply say...thank you Ms. Burnett

I have loved Carol Burnett ever since she stared in The Muppets episode from season 5 episode 15. I heard this song & I do agree with most people on here that Julie Andrews should have been the one to sing this song but Katy Perry did a damn good job singing it as well.

No disrespect meant to Perry, but this should have been sung by Julie Andrews, IMO. Even with her limited range now, she could have pulled off the shorter version Burnett typically used to close her show. And if they wanted to do the full version, Andrews could have simply sung the first few lines, with all of the performers coming back out to join in. Total missed opportunity.

Julie andrews can’t sing anymore, she had throat surgery but it was botched I read on IMDB Her husband reported that she would probably never sing again because the throat surgery had ruined her voice. (November 1998)

@@LovesDavidCassidy Andrews has a very limited range as a result of the surgery, but she is capable of carrying a tune. She's sung periodically in the years since the surgery, using her lower register. The version of the song Burnett used to close the show uses less than an octave - I'm sure Andrews could have pulled it off.

Julie Andrews can actually still sing quite well (even at her advanced age), although in a lower register. She could have easily sung the song, though who knows - maybe she was asked and declined. Regardless, I didn't like the Katy Perry take on it; she made it somehow sultry and rather creepy, IMO. And she kept singing "...seems we just got started..." rather than 'get'. Ugh.

I'm certain if Carol or Julie wanted that to happen, it would have. It's more likely that Ms. Andrews simply didn't feel comfortable enough to do it. And it's kind of nice to see that Carol has impacted the younger generations. Katy did a lovely job.

Oh, please - The version of this classic was okay, at best. It was way over-the-top with Katy Perry's melodramatic performance - maybe Perry should have tried the old cleaning lady costume. Thankfully, the song had a FAR better ending with Carol Burnett.
