Anyone saying Jaylen is the best player on the Celtics doesn't understand basketball. I'll tell you who I think wanted Derrick White: Steve Kerr, for the specific reason I said. The fact Jaylen posted some Nike thing doesn't mean there's anything to it.
@markmccreadie621220 күн бұрын
It's you who laughably doesn't understand the game. Tatum is the focus of the defense everytime he is on the court even when brown is as well. Please learn basketball. If brown was the #1 option he would struggle with constant double teams. My god KZfaq comments are clueless as always

the claw is about as useful as lay-up line maxi misalot lol finally found something good to say about lay-up line maxi misalot, lol, at least lay-up line maxi misalot is cheaper and a way better cheerleader on the bench lol but both are just as useful to their team lol

Because we need something to talk about. My guess? They had concerns, as Jason Timpf has described, about their foot speed on perimeter defense. It's about a team fit, not arranging stars in some constellation. If we could get past our idiotic star-studded myopia in team sports, we wouldn't even be discussing this.
@williamkent244620 күн бұрын
This is what I think. This may be a hot take, but if we want the "best" shot to win, we should go away from star studded rosters. Clutch role players that aren't stars are necessary for team cohesion and chemistry.

If anyone believes Jaylen not getting picked has nothing to do with Nike, then you have zero clue how the real world works. Money and politics rules everything. Nike OWNS this team. JB has made it very clear he doesn’t like Nike and Nike has made their choice and it seems so damn obvious to me.

I think White was always the backup for team US and was preparing as such.

Why would you add another four years of a heavy contract to an older player who lost his Nike signature shoe? I think too many teams are hoping that these stars age like LeBron.
@mctaguer20 күн бұрын
I love how the selection is supposed to be about accomplishments, notoriety and accolades. There's also this: after last year, a determination by Team USA to win the damned Olympics. And Derrick White is maybe the best TEAMMATE in basketball. They already have more than enough TALENT. You think they put Erik Spoelstra and Ty Lue on that coaching staff for the hugs? This is, above all else, about WINNING. C'mon guys--can we EVER get deeper than the lazy way we "analyze" these things?

It’s not just the tweet. Everyone’s talking about the one tweet. Jaylen has worn multiple shoes with statements against Nike since that tweet as well. I don’t like the whole “keep your mouth shut” and “sell out” narrative gets rewarded in not just basketball.

Maybe he saw lebron playing point guard again instead of small forward. This happen when he keep team USA and lost. If Kerr cloud not force him (lebron) play 3 or 4 send Bron home. They might lost again.

FOH over Tatum lol. JT needs to shoot more efficiently but Brown doesn’t do as well as he does without JT. You all made that very clear with what you thought of him game 7 in the ECFs when JT got hurt
@InfamousSslickX20 күн бұрын
@@rollind2456 the reason why we say brown is better is because hes smaller and gets the basket better than tatum, defends much better and the gap offensively is really just tatums shot is a little better. Brown is a better overall player. Take out brown of the equation and tatum doesnt win shit so
@rollind245620 күн бұрын
@@InfamousSslickX like I said, the defensive attention is on Tatum. I’m not saying Tatum is Jokiic or Luka but to disregard the attention on him to allow brown space is insane. I love brown and his killer instinct but he got killed for failing in G7 when Tatum was injured. kzfaq.info/get/bejne/qrqVnchqt7alXac.htmlsi=VKfi62HgLdKCkM65
@InfamousSslickX20 күн бұрын
@@rollind2456 same goes for tatum you dont think defenses pay attention to brown? Literally one of the best finishers at the rim in the league and can shoot the three efficiently. They are both great, but to guard the best player on the other team and still produce at that level offensively is no minor accomplishment.
