Per the reg’s in Florida, “a non-offset non-stainless circle hook is required when targeting or harvesting sharks when using live or dead natural bait”. FYI

I caught a bunch of those black tips not far off the coast by Charleston, SC that were around 75-120 lb size. It's one of the best fishing days I've ever had...they pull, run, jump out of the water. good times! We were on a 20 ft. flats boat that time...I could only imagine catching one in a kayak. Looks like you had a blast!

This is so awesome watching y'all fishing for sharks in your kayak really interesting I did watch the video of u by your self shark fishing wow looks like so much fun I know I use to fish behind the motel in Myrtle Beach SC catching sand sharks at night I was using my carp fishing rods and reels then had really clean them good when got back get salt off of them

Good trip, Justin. Sharks are really a lot of fun. Strong as an ox! I caught one from the pier in SC. Bout the size of your first. It was late and no net! Braid to slick to lift him up. Sure was a blast. Congratulations.

Sharks are fun to catch unless they bite you while trying to release them which I had happen to me in the mid 1990's lucky it was a smaller black tip and didn't cause much damage to my upper left ankle while I was working as 1st mate on a headboat in NC.

Guessing you are on the Gulf side. Beautiful area! We live in TN, not too far from you and love to take the Hobie out on the saltwater on the FL Gulf. There are some good eatin fish out there 😋

I love salt water fish I say that salt water fish fight 10x what a fresh water fish does ! Unless your catching toadies lol aka fish drum sticks . It really is surprising how much harder they fight . Catch Jaws brother !

I caught 3 blacktips several years ago off of a friend's boat about 13 miles out of intercoastal waters on artificial reefs off the ga coast.biggest one about 4 ft..on my then bass rod and reel set up.. we weren't shark fishing but they were eating the black sea bass we were reeling in..it would take me like 20 minutes to land one..they are definitely fun to catch on light gear...great video 🤟😎
