Flats always hurt at first (for me), but then they become really comfy and easy. What I do is wear them around the house for a few minutes while walking around to see what areas rub (for me, always the ankle, sometimes the side of my big toe or pinky toe), then I just use the stick-on heel protectors (or toe ones) until the shoes are broken in. You can get them at grocery/drug stores or online - they really help!

those see through socks really help, and try to break them in around the house by wearing them with thick socks and stepping on their back when you're sitting at your desk or something

For the flats - use some vaseline where the shoes will rub on your foot. This will keep you from getting blisters or raw spots and at least in my experience it seems to help break in the shoes faster.

I wear bandages or stockings when I wear flats like that. I haven't done this with flats (maybe I will now, not sure), but I wrap bandages around the toe-strap (or whatever it's called) with thong sandals.

The 'glass' necklace looks like agate which, although it is made of silica, has a microcrystalline structure while glass does not have a crystalline structure. Basically, agate is a (pretty) polished rock. :) Not trying to be condescending, just helpful.

To break in flats, press down the back until it gets all floppy and doesn't cut in :)

It's interesting that you don't like the overt branding of 'PINK' on the sweatshirt, but that the marc by marc jacobs plaque is one of your favourite parts of the wallet.

I would recommend you use moleskin padding or rolls. If you buy the roll you can just cut a piece off and stick it onto the back inner part of the flat so your heel doesn't rub

I have loved minnetonkas for so long! Got a pair of their boots for Christmas as I found them on amazon for a decent-ish price but I have always wanted a pair of the flats that you got! Sadly they cost about $70 if you want to buy from the uk :(

I'm interested in how you get Christmas things back to the UK. Last August I moved from California to Canada. At Christmas time in California I got mainly things for my apartment, for example a lovely set of frying pans. I was only able to bring back one frying pan and I was still overweight.

"Breaking in" the flats: I assume you usually wear them barefoot, so maybe tights would help? They look good with flats so you could go out on public, but they protect your feet a little...
