the silicone is a good idea for this board, i think the brass weight would get rid of all ping and hollowness but the silicone is way cheaper nice job

already into custom keyboards. Typing on a GK87 right now, which I decided that I don't like too much due to the crappy remap software. Looking forward to when I can go and get the Keychron Q3 which has QMK support, an CNC anodized aluminum body, and a volume knob, and doesn't break the bank at less than $200.

It’s a bit weird that you didn’t have bottom foam included, like on KBD67 Lite, I don’t think the “stock” does the justice to the case since most people(I assume) just put the internals of their KBD67 Lite into this case and don’t experience any hollowness

So I'm building my first custom today once my caps come in. I'm going from my Corsair K70 mk2 with Cherry MX Silents, to a Portico 75 with Silent Alpacas. My initial testing with the lubed and filmed switches and the modded stabs are CRAZY silent. And it makes the Cherrys almost sound like a clicky not a linear switch. I'm pretty shocked every time I see how much difference the tape mod can make. I'll be experimenting to see how much it might help me. And the Portico already comes with a removable Silicone fill. So I'll experiment without that as well.

I am getting my metal KBD67 lite worked on at a CNC shop. They are going to cut a slot out for the battery re-coat it silver. I’ll throw on some wooden keycaps and call it done.

My biggest issue is budget, started with some switches, added lube to cart, at this point noticing price of Royal Kludge is less that what is already in the cart, decided the springs on new switches are too light, and can't find heavy springs yet, now painters tape, a switch disassembler, etc. This stuff adds up so very very fast. Not switching keycaps due to it being a n odder format than most key sets and paying twice the price of keyboard for keycaps without the needed legends seems an even worse way to spend money. I suppose once started this hobby wouldn't kill me but getting started is killing me, or at least making my credit card company put a bounty on my head...

I run the same setup on my kbd67v3, tape mod with a fr4 plate and no dampener. Totally agree that it is the best sounding across all the config! But I wanted to reduce its hollowness, so I used the force break mod on the keyboard. Now almost all the hollowness has gone, and the board still sing!

How much silicone did you use i got the tofu60 redux and i cant find anything about how much silicone i should use

Iam just using a regular Roccat Vulcan 120 AIMO Keyboard with Titan switches. Iam still curius what is it all about custom Keyboards.
