Welcome to my next 24 hour stealth camping adventure.
In the last three years many people have been asking me to do a 24 hour Stealth Camping adventure at IHOP.
Well… good news! a brand new IHOP location just opened last year only 45 minutes from my house in Brampton, Ontario, Canada.
So lets go to IHOP, and order as much food as we can from their huge menu. We’ll eat a couple meals in the restaurant and a couple in the Minivan Camper

Wow. What a mess that location is. They didn't "cut up" your T-bone steak... They gave you the wrong dish. They gave you the "Sirloin Steak Tips and eggs" which is cheaper and comes with mushrooms and onions... That location gets NOTHING right. Hopefully they learn and get better🤷

Was not even steak tips. It was a cut up steak. It was long strips and you clearly see the inside of that steak. Steak tips are cuts of steaks that have to be trimmed down in size. The tips then get cooked, and have a sear all around.

Does your friend own this location or is it a sponsored video? Brings out pancakes, THEN brings out Bennies with no hollandaise sauce asking if that’s okay? All after zero service to get your order even placed? The IHOPS in Alberta are just as worse and it only took me one time to say I’m never setting foot in there again

“That’s okay also, take my English muffin and ham back to the heat lamp while we wait for the hen to hatch that lays my egg you plan on poaching to go on there too”. I get a free KOOL-Aid for sitting around the lobby for half an hour later in the day and will say it’s the greatest customer service I’ve ever experienced. I would’ve told them to keep their sponsorship money, because this was not a good enough sell on your part Ken, and will think less of your videos here on out.

It seems everyone in Canada is so nice and respectful. Sometimes here in the states when you go to these types of chain restaurants the service can be bad and people can be really rude.

Saw that as well, it rang up as steak tips But the meat clearly was not steak tips either. It was a cut up steak. Long strips, you could see it was cut. Steak tips are irregular pieces (cut offs from other steak that are to big so they use the trimmings for the tips) that are cooked and never trimmed after), so it has a sear all around it. They for sure did not know what they are doing in that kitchen.

So is it legal to do it where u r? Or do u just do it? And I’m wondering same specifically for the parking lots u stay in. Where I live in central canada there’s no specific law about staying in ur CAR while parked, BUT it is “strictly prohibited “ for people to stay overnight in their rvs when parked…. So I thought I’d ask.

It depends where he's doing the camping at. If I remember correctly, the ones he did at a McDonald's and KFC he wasn't allowed to stay in the lot/area and I think the Walmart or whatever it was stealth camp he did he mentioned it was illegal in the town he was in to do it. It was also like the middle of winter and it's probably a liability thing. Don't want people parked in the lot doing this, and then freezing to death.

i also went to an IHOP while in Canada a little over 5 years ago, I think I ordered the tres leches pancakes and from what i remember, it was delicious! I think it's the same taste as the US. Man i really want to revisit Canada one day!

I was at an IHOP earlier this week. It looks like they gave you steak tips. That is what I ordered and it looked just like that. The pancakes come with every breakfast. We had 2 breakfast 1 water and 1 coffee and with a tip it was just over $50. I know I got steak but there were only about 6 small pieces of meat.... But delicious.

I was thinking, geesh that eggs benny was a bit steep in price, so then I looked up pricing in my local area (Perth Australia) and to my shock horror, we charge between $16- $20 here too! No wonder I'm so skinny! Food is just sooo expensive! Cheers for the great video Ken 🤘

16-20 dollars is reasonable as. Back in pre 2012 used to eat at a cafe near the melb market. All up would be over a hundred dollars, just for 3 eggs beni with a glass of OJ each. So again, cheap as man. I'm skinny also. 70kg reppin! Edit: 3 people, hence the 3 eggs Benedict.

Even with the exchange rate, those prices are ridiculously high. IHOP here in the States costs way less. I love IHOP, but the prices are nuts. I mean, $30 for a stack of pancakes and an order of Eggs Benedict is insane. I get that they were a little disorganized being a new location, but waiting that long and having a screw-up on every order, while charging those prices, seems crazy.

I didn't know we had IHOP in Canada. I googled and there's 3 or 4 in Niagara Falls and this one in Brampton. I think more are opening in the near future.

I can’t speak to this particular location. But when IHOP first opened in Niagara Falls, Ontario, I went to the location and was somewhat surprised at their high prices, compared to the United States where I had been to IHOP on many occasion, all the way down to Texas, etc. Nonetheless, I did order breakfast and enjoyed it reasonably so, but the prices killed it for me. I was used to US prices and the prices in Niagara Falls are over inflated compared to other parts of Ontario/Canada anyway because of the tourism. This applies to most restaurants in Niagara Falls, Ontario, particularly the chains like Denny’s, The Keg, The Outback, which I believe is closed now … at least for the winter.

The sight of those runny eggs...oooohhh no. Ever since I was a kid I've liked any kind of eggs I have to be either medium or hard cooked. !That second eggs benedict you considered over cooked looked perfect to me. And egg yolk in my hash browns??? I shudder to think of it! But to each their own I guess.

New restaurants (not just independent ones) can also take a few months to ‘normalize,’ plus they may have opened with a bit less staffing than ideal (maybe on purpose to gauge how much they’ll need). And regular French toast at IHOP near me is 3 slices of regular bread. I think they only use the thick bread (brioche?) for “stuffed” French toast. And to be honest, the blueberry pancakes shouldn’t have had all the fruit in the middle, but more uniformly spread out. It’s like getting a blueberry muffin where all the fruit sank to the bottom.

Ken have you ever thought about just tinting your back windows really dark so you can see out but others can't see in unless someone pressed their face against the window? Of course I don't know what the tinting laws are in Canada but that would be ideal and it would help keep your van cool in the summer.

I didn't like runny eggs until I was in my 40's. Now I love them mixed in my hashbrowns or soaking in the toast. Couldn't be better although my favorite is over fried rice at my favorite Hawaiian Restaurant here in Seattle.
