Amongst the many halls an mansions in central England, few can compare to the pure opulance of Keddleston hall. For centuries the area belonged to the influential Curzon family and the mansion was a testament to their wealth and status. Built purely to entertain and impress there hall is a must see when visiting the area. As well as the building there is also a lot of history of the family. Especially around Lord Curzons time as Viceroy of India during the British Empire.
Keddleston hall is situated just outside of Derby and is part of the national trust. Access is excellent for the most part although getting upstairs may be an issue for some. As well as the amazing main hall there are plenty of delightful garden and woodlands walks to embark upon. The site has accesable toilets, a cafe and shops.
