For all the hate skaters get in America it really seems your curbs were made for skating. English curbs are literally the rockiest concrete you can imagine

Rub brick and some liquid cement before you wax it gets it buttery. Gota take that weird little line of crete that's above the rounded edge off.

This is in California, trust me when I say this is not a nationwide status. Minnesota has crumbling garbage curbs because of the cold and heat and they're higher off the ground.

I was 21 when i stopped skating, started when i was 13. I'm 35 now, 36 in a couple of months and been back at it for 2months. First few weeks were testing as i had to get that muscle memory back. Iv not even exercised since i was 21 so i had to get my body used to that aswell haha.
@robertborden26663 жыл бұрын
@@counterfeitclone definitely a break in period. My legs were so jittery those first two months and it takes about 30 minutes to get fully loose. But if you exercise along with the skating, you can still manage a ton of stuff at 36. I would be so glad if I was back in at 35 instead of 43 but I get a charge out of trying anything I couldn’t do as a kid.

Solid tips! The one thing that unlocked slappys for me was to sort of lightfoot it like you do when you either powerslide or chinese nollie. I've always been told to just ram it into the curb and it never worked for me until I figured that lightfoot thing out.

I didn't dislike the video but if I did I would dislike it because I can do slappy's and I was taught that you don't lift up, unless you are going for a board/lip slide, or pivoting into something, everything he's saying is right except for the babylift up part, I know that if you are doing slappy's on something tall there's a point where you need to lift up, but I would say that would be the point where it's kinda a wall ride slappy.... I don't know, that is just my opinion, I honestly think that Dan's slappy game is bitchin', he's definitely a heavy weight, and I have seen him do wall ride slappy's, so yeah, I have respect for the guy, but yeah, I feel like if I were explaining a slappy on a curb I'd say everything accept for the babylift part, haha.

did my first slappies today at 40, first day in 10 years, and they're amazing! nobody does them at the park I went to and they fit in with the type of skating I like, the type of shit you do. there's nothing like the feeling of a grind on cement. with indy's too.

You guys are killing it honestly I could watch this all day! Just a few things if you could mention like slanted curbs vs straight curbs. And I feel like a certain setup is key as well round wheels vs square wheels. Wider trucks and flatter decks honestly I think that’s half the battle if you know what I mean

it's pretty much all in the front wheel and truck - once that initial wheel makes contact and you feel the front start to grind the back truck follows where the SLAP comes in.

A question, would it be feasible to see some of the undersides of some of your products? Specifically how the coping is attached? I'm in Australia firstly but also can't afford to purchase things so I'm going through the DIY route and trying to figure out the best way to attach round coping is really the biggest thing.. Screws that go through the whole thing, bolts from the underside that only attach on the ends or just thick ass screws on the ends in the middle. What am I missing?! If it's a trade secret it's all good, I'll keep looking up hour long deconstructions on how to attach screws to things, the next 42 episodes might help

nah im good with the original way. slapping that back truck up on the curb then planting the front one down into the 50 - 50 is better. no reason to change whats already better. great tutorial on the slappie grinds etc loved it.

My biggest issue is I'm concentrating so hard on getting my front trucks (frontside) on the curb, I forget to push my back truck up and on. I suck at slappy's.
