What I do is just hold a lit marb100 in my mouth while I work. It keeps my breathing to an uncomfortable minimum & gets painful smoke in my eye every few minutes which keeps them good & watery for added ocular protection. Safety first👍

Yall got nice curbs! Here in wisconsin they make the curbs at 90 degree angles and the corner is rounded off with no edge. Then they rough them up with push brooms. You would literally have to take off a quarter inch with the rub brick

Is the rub brick being held parallel to the top, then parallel to the side, like taking off the paint? Or are you taking off the sharp corner of the curb off by grinding the rub brick at a 45 to it? The video isn't too clear. I see a lot of curbs rounded over but it seems like you'd just roll / fall of a rounded curb and not really be able to lock in.

So is this for curbs and ledges that are not chunky only? Like does it have to be a fairly new ledge?
@MRREE-zw6xc3 жыл бұрын
New or old. New ledges tend to have a smooth finish but have small lines that grab and cause friction. The rub brick and enamel make the surface buttery and lets it slide. With chunky its a bit harder for the brick since its flat. But a crap ton of wax for chunky tends to work especially with the rocks sticking out of the concrete. And a lot of pushing through lol
@wyattlarson11049 ай бұрын
Is that just like a basic clear coat?
@32srt322 жыл бұрын
what about curbs that are chipped away and painted with 3 different layers of paint? you cant get a rubbrick on the bare concrete and the paint keeps chipping off exposing small spots of bare concrete.
@fuckingfork63533 жыл бұрын
Is it bad to rub brick an already waxed ledge? I rub bricked a ledge i found but I used a paver stone so i dont think it worked as well as it could have. I already waxed it but I want to try to brick it some more.
@luckyfirespitter52393 жыл бұрын
Pretty sure he does exactly that in part of the video so I think your good
@ariekanibalie3 жыл бұрын
Depends how much wax is on there, but I'd imagine it might get all up in the grain of the brick, making it much less effective because less friction. That's why I get bummed when I see people try just caking wax on some crusty curb and see if it'll go.

Anyone in the UK know if this sort of thing works on our curbs? I don't think I've ever gotten an actual curb to grind at all
@ariekanibalie3 жыл бұрын
It works but like they said, you'll need to put some extra effort into rub-bricking it. Really, this is the most important phase, and half-assing it won't do, so keep rubbing until you're over it and then rub-brick it some more. You'll be filing off a good bit of material, so consider pouring water on to wash away any dust and letting it dry before moving on to the lacquer. And if possible without immediately getting in an argument with someone, apply plenty of wax, but use a blow-torch to really melt that wax into any small holes and cracks.
